I like the duck the most : | He's my favorite, does he have a name :0?
And the pergola looks really cool too! :o

As a technical thing: Using glare and bright light can look nice, but you want to watch out for blowing out parts of the image because it loses detail. Ex: The puddle in the last photo. Also, as a result, that photo doesn't end up having a lot of rich dark colors to contrast the light (which you do well in the first photo). Looks good, though. Keep at it. I really like the first one.

Nope. Just one of many birds found at one of our local parks. There were a ton, so I didn't exactly want to try to name them all. :p

Yeah, it's something I fight with pretty often. But in some cases I do it on purpose. When shooting that particular photo, I had the option of either using a CPL lens filter or going without one so I could capture the reflection of the sky in the water. (Which is all white and hazy, because it's about to rain.)

A CPL lens can be used to dim light coming from reflections so you can see what's down below the surface of the water, but that puddle was pretty shallow and I didn't want to try and capture the texture of the mud. If the image is flipped upside-down (which I have done below) you can see a wavy image of the trees that are outside of the frame, and that's kind of what I was more interested in capturing.

The depth of field effect you've got going on the purple flower is really nice. What camera did you use to capture and what aperture for that photo in particular if you remember?

Nice picture of a llama.

Emera 05-08-2014 08:16 PM

You certainly are a magnificent bastard.

These are all from a Canon 70D. The aperture setting was at f/4.0 and the ISO is set at 100.

Also, I don't know if you've ever used Adobe Bridge, but If you shoot in RAW and work with files in it before editing, you will be able to view information about pictures you've taken. Very handy if you need to know specifics about the camera or lens settings when a picture was shot. :]

Uhm, in what way? What 'style' do you prefer?

I like to do more experimental stuff from time to time, but I'm not a mind reader. If you have suggestions, feel free to make them though. :p
