Winter GST
 

First I would like to congratulate Alumni for winning iDevice and Northern Sign for winning Mixed.

What thoughts did you guys had on this GST? How did you and your team performed ?

I was in Rebellious and very proud of so! We made it into the Top 4 and beat our record from last time! Sadly we lost to Alumni before finals :( but both rounds were pretty close so I cannot complain. Congrats to my friend Goku for making a very close 3v1 clutch on them!

5pa4 lost to vDragz, I heard memo cried and they got a rematch and won.
They faced us(Monarchism), we lost by one hit at the semi final. At the final, Alumni clutched on 5pa4.

Mixed
Slx had a good teamwork against Mother.
Deity got eko lagged out, so it was basically 4v5 against Northern Signs.
Northern Signs clutched against SLX at the final. What a miracle.

She complained and they got a rematch? Can someone explain this in more detail or someone who actually witnessed it because that's really dumb if they got a rematch because some whiner complained lol.

was at my brother's basketball tournament during the GST but if anyone recorded it then post a link here

vDragz members were there. Some vDragz members are banned, because they curse out at the opponent team and admin Guri.

That's a little much lol but I'd be pretty mad too if some noobs got a rematch because they complained. If that happened, not saying it did.

Just wanted to point out that even tho I didn't go waste my time observing the GST,but from reading the posts on this thread this GST was the same as the others. This guild complained,this person kept lagging, the same guilds where in the finals,the same guild won,blah blah freakin blah. You wanna know what I think of the GST's?....3 hours of BS that causes lag that makes my game run ****ty. Same old **** different season glad its over lets move on.

My brother was in vDragz, I was watching him playing and vDragz beat 5pa4 and for some reason they got an extra chance. Total bullcrap this GST.

Quite happy with GST, my team made it to Round 3 which we were happy with but we lost to Rebellious, they sparred very well though!

Well Focus GST was a the mixed tournament. Focus was a Voyage/Reborn sparring team. However, 3 members failed to show after practicing for weeks and having full commitment. 1 member was a sub member and took the place of one of the missing cores. However, still we had 1 spot on core and nobody to fill it, as the other subs was one of the off-lines. I tried to take it, all of Focus tried really hard to switch me in as one of the cores before GST started. Focus had a great spar score (believe it was 45 or 50) and didn't want to lose because only 4 were sparring. An admin, (who never contacted me, only talked to other Focus sparers) was trying to get me in and he couldn't figure it out. So, after several minutes of him trying to add me to gst team, he gave up and put Focus in their first match against SDE, who had 5 great sparrers and beat focus.

TDLR: GST was a mess, admins didn't know how to work essential mechanics on GST systems, the whole GST roster system caused major issues. (Nobody could leave iDevice team and joined Mixed, when iDevice was an accidental team)

Lag fest, confused admins, ugh. If only we had enough scripters to rewrite the mechanics of GST

What happens when you join GST and get in the room and try to buy the gift box, does it give you anything else?

I spoke to one of the hosts, Guri, and I asked why the 5pa4 vs vDragz match was restarted. She said, "There was a cause of bad lag in 5pa4 vs vDragz."

Seriously this event just sucks, it will always bring bickering and crap by the "sparrers" and in general is a laggy, rubbisly run mess

Sadly i'm the leader of Voyage and thats the guild that i was accidently a part of the iDevice team. We thought of this while were trying to get me on focus team and I was about to give the guild to co leader and kick myself, however the admin or whatever didn't wait for us and before I got the go ahead, the match began.

Regardless, the system should be improved where leaving gst teams is as accessible as everything else. As well, I dont understand why you cannot alter your team right before GST starts. If we could, we definitely would had not been short members.

On another note, the first two teams (and I dont know the rest) that Mother went against were both short members. They faced a two man team, followed by a three man team. Srsly?

Another case of staff in charge of GST matches being morons you say? You'd think you would come to expect it since it's been reported the past 4 GSTs.

I don't understand why 5pa4 was given a rematch if Vdragz won. 5pa4 has delay so if that's what memo was complaing about vdragz then she's a total hypocrite. I mean t-daddy you usually look down upon people that complain about lag, but when its your pals I guess you switch sides!

Some people on this thread just sound like thy are trying to slag off the wining teams just becouse they don't know then , like then as a person ... That has nothing to do with there amount of skill and preparation that took them to first place so those people have to grow up

If you're asking me to speak about the 5par vs. vDragz thing, I don't really understand why it's being treated like a one-sided thing. 5pa4 have MeMo and Sugar, but didn't the vDragz team have Dark and Nell (who both live in Australia and do and always will delay)? The Dark kid delays and skips in every single spar I've seen him participate in. If you show me the recorded match then maybe I'll make an opinion, but overall I don't care too much.

Dark constantly lag blocks towers so I'm pretty happy to see him banned for as long as he is, and Nell goes full ****** after every spar and rages at his own delay, claiming it was his opponent's lag, so I'm pretty pleased with the decision. :)

Alumni vs. vDragz would have been a 3-0 anyway, at least 5pa4 had a really good chance to win at 3-2.

Not taking sides, just saying you never knew about lag blocking until you actually started towering and you never really cared so much about delay and lag, is the world turned over.~Fuu

vDragz beat 5pa4 2/3, and if 5pa4 went 3-2 against Alumni, then the team that beat 5pa4 would probably have even a greater chance. Just saying btw, it wasn't my team so I don't care too much, it is what it is.

You should work for Cisco if lag upsets you this much.

Just to take a note the daughter 1vs2 clutch was absolutely bs ... I could not fkn hit that car girl thing so I fkn sparred to defend and I couldn't hit her , so it was a tie no one actually killed each other

In all seriousness It's not the GST's itself I hate it's how it is set up,and again I understand why its set up like it is. But here is my question. Do you guys really think it would make the GST's take that much longer if they at least expanded the amount of ppl on a team?

Or how about expanding the number of teams in the tournament,but making it so its set up more like the NBA or NHL playoffs? Where it starts with less matches per round,and expands to more matches per round the farther into the tournament you get? So instead of just best of 3 or best of 5 it would start out where its single elimination. That would be win the match you move on lose and your out. Then the next round would go up to best of 3. Then best of 5 for the final rounds,and maybe a best of 7 for the championship.

I know there are a lot of ppl that will be totally against that, specially all the ppl that do nothing but spar and compete in every gst. But if you shorten the matches in the first round to single elimination to save time and allow more teams. You would be giving more ppl the chance to actually enter and participate in the tournament that would otherwise under the current system probably never get the chance. Which would in turn increase the interest in the gst's and maybe even increase the player count at least for those couple of hours.

I just don't see the harm in trying to at least tweak it a little bit. I don't understand how ppl can get excited for gst's. Let me spoil the spring gst for you. The same teams from this gst and the last 10 gst's will be in the finals again,ppl will bitch that other ppl lagged,that a match got unfairly restarted,that they had to compete short handed,and that the hosting admins screwed them over and don't know what they where doing. You wanna know how I know what's going to happen??? because it happens every single time...who gives a ****,and lets never do something different.

I think its funny how every GST, 1st place chooses the worst hat and 2nd place gets the best. A generic helmet with 'GST' slapped on the front? and who would wear a sh*t/tumor covered in whipped cream on their head?
