As some of you may recall,

This past summer the very popular GBA4iOS was discontinued because Apple thought it'd be funny if they got rid of everyone's favorite iOS Gameboy Adv. emulator. (That's not really what happened)

But the developer of GBA4iOS has worked long and hard since then to provide everyone with the new GBA4iOS 2.0!

There's plenty of new fancy features to go around.

And many bug fixes from the previous version. (My personal favorite being the choppy audio)

I'm pretty hyped for it's release.

Finally I'll get back to my beloved Pokemon Emerald and more!

Please stop using emulators.

First off, it's not like a computer where you have a controller.
Secondly, LR buttons? Horrible placement.

Just buy a GBA SP.
If you have the money, get the AGS-101 with a brighter screen.
SP is fairly cheap, I got a dirty ass one from craigslist, and about 6 games, 5 were Pokemon ;), and I ordered a newly made shell on eBay for $5, re shelled. Ended up $30 for 6 games, a working system, and a $120 profit.

Nah. I will stick to emulators. Besides you can customize ur controls to your liking and you can even use Xbox or PS controllers so nah.

EDIT: This GBA4iOS 2.0 is friggin awesome! Can't wait to get this for my iPod again. Plus new features like new skins, and backwards compatibility with all Gameboy games? Dude, I can't wait!

You aren't playing it correctly if you aren't using a real system, which it was intended for.

Nah, I played it on the real system before. GBA was my first handheld system. I no longer have one and if I wanted to play SMB3 or Pokemon Emerald again, you want me to buy another SP? Nah, I would prefer to download it on my iPod tysm.

It isn't ideal.
Pokemon is easy, but try playing MegaMan Zero with touch controls =_=

I can play F-Zero with touch controls.

You don't even need touch controls.

GBA4iOS 2.0 is MFi Controller compatible.

If you're jailbroken you can also get the tweak that allows you to play games using a PS3 controller.

Or you can just get GBA4iOS for free without going through all this trouble.

No buying, cleaning, or re-shelling necessary.

I remember playing MegaMan on the older version of GBA4iOS.

Wasn't very hard at all.

Maybe you just aren't accustomed to touch controls.

GBA4iOS 2.0 is only available for iOS 7 devices.

Depending on which iPod you have you may or may not be able to play it ;.;

Not really the dev's fault.

The way that GBA4iOS is being updated doesn't work for iOS 6 and below.

iOS 6 and below devices also weren't cut out for some of the new features.

Well, I suppose I'll have to stick to GBA.emu, which, might I add, sucks in the controller customization and cheat code department?

So are there any downsides to upgrading my iPad 2 to iOS7?

If you're jailbroken you can upgrade to iOS 7,

Get GBA4iOS,

And then re-jailbreak.

Dusty, just stick to an older version. Jailbreak your device, and download an emulator from there. Plus, people are bound to upload GBA4IOS 2.0 to Cydia.

I've got 3 Gameboys (backlit, non-backlit, original horizontal) and I still use an emulator. Why? Because I like having all my things on my phone without carrying my Gameboy in my bag (no space) and I can't play Liquid Crystal or any other fan made games without a flash cart.

I'm pretty sure that won't work.

First of all, GBA4iOS runs on certain iOS 7 changes.

Second of all, it probably won't show up on Cydia because there won't be any point.

Jailbroken and non jailbroken devices can all download.

Cydia is a community thing. I could upload GBA4IOS 2.0 on there with my own source. Anyone could.
And well, I've found quite a few iOS tweaks and apps that work on an iOS 6 device, so there's a possibility it will work almost perfectly.

The question is will GBA4iOS work properly.

Like I said earlier,

There's certain functions that require iOS 7 to work.

Even if you do upload to Cydia there's no guarantee it'll work properly.

You'd probably need to get inside the app and tweak some things.

What kind of iOS 7 things are there OTHER than controller support?

Not entirely sure.

This probably is the best emulator to date, actually. GBA.emu comes a close second.

Is there a way to download a Pokemon Emerald rom with it already been randomized? I want to try the randomizer nuzlocke challenge but don't have PC access so can't randomize the rom myself.

Woh..This thread just kinda died.. C'mon guys! What game did you download on GBA4iOS?

I just beat Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga and seeing those credits roll on my iPod...Just brings back so many memories of beating the game over and over on my GBA.
