why so serverist?
 

I feel that lots of people are serverist in the community, why hate on zone because they have less players? why hate on era because their players are "asses"? (NOT quoted by me), and why hate on classic because, well, i don't see why there is any reason to hate them. But my point is that the servers' communities should get along, and make one big, nice, and friendly community! maybe if the other servers were nice to era players, then they wouldn't be asses, and maybe if you guys would stop scaring people away from zone, then they would gain more players, classic doesn't really average out to be a bad community, it's more personal but if those particular people would stop being asses then we could all get along! #thegraalhippie

I had neutral opinion of Delteria, and then I got to experience the joys of its staff/player attitude. Now I can't stand the server just out extension of those experiences, and avoid any topic about it like the plague.

Other than that, you'll get it because of bias/fanboyism. It's going to happen regardless of logic or reason. Same way you have people who hate on different games/consoles, you're going to have the same thing here.

It's a pity, because it's the sort of thing that happened way back when making your own server was a new thing. Then it dwindled away and servers started to respect each other, especially staff/devs, and it led to people being generally more helpful. People went from being selfish and caring only about their server to generally caring about Graal as a whole, and wanting better of it... but with the introduction iOS servers(and now Facebook and Android), it seems to have gone full circle and everyone being angry/ultra-competitive.

most people pay attention to the pros of a game that they play, and to the cons of a different game that they don't play which leads to arguments on which game is better, nobody pays attention to the cons of the game that they play themselves

Well in my experience, the staff seem to get along fine; irregardless of server. We have several guests on Era who are staff on other servers and many of our staff help cross-functionally on other servers as well. When new staff join from playing or working predominately on other Graal servers they are welcomed with open arms. It is normal for us all to hold some sense of personal pride for the server we work on but I think the staff are generally accepting of each other, the players, not so much. It's all rather interesting because in the end, there is no "competition" to warrant all of the hatred and putting down of other servers in the Graal family.

I never said they were perfect, I just said iClassic is the server that flames other servers the most. I usually don't see Zone or Era players telling classic their staff team is garbage, or their playerbase is full of *******. But all I hear from classic players is how immature and rude iEra players are, or how ****ty zone is because it can barely maintain 200 players. And it's definitely not because classic is perfect.

What's interesting is that, technically, it's not the servers themselves that people hate, just the player-base within.

Pretty sure people actually do hate zone though.

In spirit of Catching Fire, we should send tributes from each server to fight and have a Hunger Graal just to duke it out.

Pretty sure Era currently holds the record for greatest playercount. Nonetheless Classic has some damn good developers.

and we also hold the record for the worst administration team, worst and dumbest community, and the record for most pay 2 win. But zones slowly catching up.

era would win with their stupendously OP guns and there playercount.

Classic *****es about all the other servers and is, basically, a dating server, era is pay2win and has a bad community, and zone has glitchers and a low player count.
So those are the servers for ya. Gotta love them.

You guys need to realize most those problems are nothing but stereotypes, perpetuated by a small amount of idiots setting a bad reputation for everyone else.

Like who? People in iclassic always mumble about their rares and if you ask me the rarest thing in iclassic is a non-pedo player. As of today I’m the only one that I know of.

I have the same experience. To be honest which if you guys don't know, I was approved access to Era iPhone as a "guest RC". (If you ask, most likely the normal player will not qualify to be a Guest RC, sorry. I know someone is going to ask.) When I first logged into RC, I was greeted and welcomed with welcome arms, same goes with Delteria. (A long while ago) (We also welcome staff to our RC with open arms but the only experience I had with that was when I was hired in January which doesn't really fit here.) The staff are kind toward each over and we definitely do not slam each over's servers. My question is why can't players show the same type of behavior? (Especially the ones who want to become future staff members)

Sadly what this thread was intended to do didn't work out in the end. I am not the type of guy to feed the fire, but I do have to say that the people who mostly posted flame, are not mature enough to see the actual message of the thread and contribute positively.

I am perfectly well aware that this post is going to get flamed and to be honest, I really do not care. I also do not care if players compare Zone to Era in terms of player count, it is like comparing apples to oranges. Zone will grow over time.

Yeah, I've decided that's it's pointless to try and change their minds, I've tried before and it just turns into a flame war.

As for the note about staff being nice to each other, it's completely true. In all the times I've been on rc(a couple hundred), I have never been bashed a single time.
