In 2023 the first humans are set to go to Mars. They will live in pods assembled by Mars rovers. The only catch is, once you get to Mars you never come back. So you would spend the rest of your life there. 6 people will go up and anyone can apply for it. Currently over 170,000 people have applied.

The private company SpaceX is developing ships with the hope of going to mars as well.

Any age limit? Lol. I wouldn't mind applying.

I actually took time and thought of some things lol.

1: Nobody really knows if there is existing life on mars, can't hunt for food. (Goes with #4)
2: There is no drinkable water.
3: 6 people? Seems like a small amount before somebody ends up going crazy and killing each other.
4: If I'm correct, it takes 210 days to reach Mars. Long time for resources to get there to aid the people.

2. Food and supplies will be sent years earlier. Green house for veggies and stuff etc
3. True that lol, but further selected volunteers with valuable assets will be grouped and sent up yearly... Soo that might help lol
4. I forget but I think these guys estimated it to being around 8 months travel time(I'd go crazy lol). Resources, tools, machines, housing units etc etc are expected to launch in the near future and periodically up to and after group one's arrival.

Age requirement? Kinda... They need personals versed in aerospace tech and such and such to be able to keep maintence on the craft carrying them. Ofcourse the training provided for the selected few should cover that part. You do need something that will contribute to a newly forming colony to even be considered... Soo, lol...

The crazy thing to me in all this is, if any of them decides to hook up(which they prolly will) that means first generation martians!! I'd love to be able to witness that. :D

Only people who are teenagers now would be viable, honestly.

Mars and Earth are both orbiting, ergo the distance between the two varies constantly.

Which is exactly the problem. Teenager fresh out of college decides it'd be cool. Signs up... 10 years later, they're going on 30 with a family and kids and stable job.

Low-gravity sex?

We're gonna discover primitive-stupid aliens, which will kill (and eat) all of the crew, lay their eggs, and then pee on them. Then when we try sending rescue they also die, and it eventually results in the craft exploding. But the Aliens returns to Earth and kill everyone.

This, and horrible aliens laying eggs in humans which will be transported back to earth eventually, which will be the end of earth.

What if they make us zombies?

Will it be called a "Zombie Apocolypse" or an "Alien Apocolypse"?

What if they want our babies?! Or our poo?!

What if they're horny?!

You need a virus and humans in order to get zombies, i doubt that will happen.
