Do you like your country?
Not a poll, just want to see what you Graalians think about your homecountries.
Please list your country and what you like about it and what noy(bonus points if you give reasons). inb4 Murican hoard. inb4 OP can't inb4. inb4 Swedish Graalian enters this thread. What I don't like is that it's been ruined since that Socialist ass Nasser took over and promoted his stupid Pan Arabism ideology and started the Anti Israel propaganda that got us into a lot of trouble and I think we were better under a constitutional monarchy. Also I never cared about Mubarak because at least there was security and NOT POWER OUTAGES EVERY DAY AND NOT A GAS AND WATER PROBLEM. Also I don't like that the president is a goddamn idiot. I do however support Egyptian nationalism but I am against the Arab countries especially Qatar for various reasons. Also overpopulation. I like that my country is realizing its mistake and is turning on the Islamist ***** that are ruining this country. Babylon, Egypt, Syria and Persia were once the greatest civilizations and look what they've become. Also I like that while I'm traveling people ask me where I'm from and i answer and continue the conversation can from small talk to serious. It's late and i might contribute more if this doesn't get buried. |
I live in Britain and yeah, I do like my country. I think this is mainly because I don't think it takes itself too seriously.
The weather is generally forecast for rain or wind and that's something which I don't mind. I actually drink more tea than most people do, but that's because I'm addicted, not due to the country that I'm in. Now that we've got the sterotypes over... UK politics are like an arcane pantomime in the way that they are executed. As someone on the outside, I don't know how they believe it is acceptable. You need to live in a certain area, be educated in a specific University and (more often than not) have family social connections to get involved in the circus. For this reason, I don't really care for it. Moreover, we are not plagued with dramatic conspiracy theories that demand interest unlike other countries. One of the things I like most about Britain, and the United Kingdom in general, is that culture and heritage appear to hold a greater importance to society than religion does. I have never felt as though the country or its people are ruled by religion, unlike in the East and even the United States. There is obviously degrees of intolerance, but I believe that generally there is an apathy within the society as a whole when it comes to beliefs. I'll leave it there for now. |
My country uh Britain it's alright David Cameron is a feg he's obsessed with bringing homos to Britain and making gey marriage allowed >_> hate the guy and yeah we have crap whether majority of the year, I'm annoyed we gave up most of the empire and in 20 years time there will be more Muslims than actual British people -.-!" David Cameron Slags our soldiers of by cutting there pay and reducing the amount of soldiers fighting for our country and that they get paid less than a footballer when they have there lives on the line.
About a month ago 2 Nigerian Muslims ran over a British soldier and stabbed him repeatedly and tried to behead him in broad day light in Woolwich. |
I live in jolly ol britain and i used too like it but this year my god this country has gone down the pan. Now i read alot of news proberly about 2 hours a day not too mention twitter. But anyway britain is getting slowly turned into a police state with how you can hardly say anything now or you get arrested, the retared justice system (i like americas alot more i mean one time some guy got jailed for 4 years in britain for killing 4 people in a car accident A YEAR FOR EACH PERSON) the stupid councils whch run evry district will fine and contest you over the most stupidest things ever, labor nuff said, the recent attacks against anybody from the middle east across the conutry and david cameron and nick clegg (bunch of right pilliocks)
But yeah thats what i think of jolly ol britain |

I go to England regularly for a month every year in the summer vacation and life is so simple and nice there.

I don't like people in general.
However I can't imagine living anywhere else other than the United States. I like it here. |
I was originally born in Russia, but live in the United States. I personally do not like it here, the media is just a bunch of celebrities with butt implants. But when isn't the media useless? Haha. The main reason I dont like America is there is a lot of crap going around right now about how the scandals are arising in the Government and I honestly don't trust it. But I like visiting the County I was born in, and enjoy the culture a lot more. When I last visited I got to see President Putin give a speech, granted, my father had to translate but it was still a great experience. I would much rather have Russia listed as my home country, rather than America.

I've always lived in the United States. It's a good place; I feel safe and secure, and I have my friends and like where I live. On the other hand, however, I think that the current government has glaring faults and think that the stereotype of many Americans being conceited, ignorant, and uncaring about what doesn't immediately concern them is sadly accurate. It's a good place, though, founded on strong principles, and I like to think it has the ability to rectify itself.
I have a lot of nationalism and pride for Great Britain, though, specifically England. I've always appreciated England's culture and the idea of a smaller, more centralized nation. A part of me wouldn't mind living there if it wasn't so far from my family and friends at home. |

I live in Australia right now, and it's good. It's a whole lot bigger than New Zealand, where I come from. A lot of people here though are really loud and obnoxious, especially in tight spaces. (Example- the number of people I heard at Brisbane airport today complaining loudly about tiny things that has gone wrong with their flights). I don't like them. But I have a lot of friends here, which I like. Another thing I don't like is how politics is just a huge popularity contest between the leaders of the parties. On the news, I hear barely anything about the actual ministers and individual policies - it's all just about the leaders. That's a lot different to New Zealand, where the parties themselves are more the focus. I would happily move back to New Zealand, especially in summer when it's too hot, and the rainy season, when it's hot and unbearably humid. It'd be hard to leave all my friends behind again, but I'd still do it. |
i was born in france, i now currently live in australia, and yes i do like it mainly because of the freedom.

But yeah Britain is a really nice place with plenty of culture and whatnot. It is also a stable country as it's quite rare that something really bad happens. |
I love the United States in general and I love how nice everyone is here. The main thing I like about Texas is it's "Do it yourself" attitude, a mindset that most places don't have. The thing I hate most about the United States is how deeply embedded religon is. Saying you're an atheist is even worse than saying you're gay here. When a person finds out they usually view you like you're just "different" or an "outsider". I really wish religion wasn't such a serious part of our culture, its incredibly annoying. Stuff like that should just be more personal.
|
I like Britain, politics can be annoying especially with our current Prime Minister who's a tool tbh, but the rest of it idm. Regarding the comment about Muslims "taking over" Britain, I always believed one of Britain's strongest facts is the variety of culture that is so easily accessible to us nowadays. What I probably love most though is our slang and tea.

I like Italy and the food you can find there

Always lived in America. For now I live in Chicago, soon I'll be moving to Washington D.C. Not too excited.

Since I'd probably become the next Higbey for ranting about all the bad things about our country and saying it sucks, ill just disregard it all and say that I'd rather live in a country of more religious and/or historical significance, such as Britain, Italy, Japan, or the U.K. they seem alot more interesting and more 'fun' than the U.S. and to those who are adding discrimination and religion to their list, I'd consider that discrimination, racism, and such are universal, and are found no matter where you go.

I live in the Netherlands and i like it here. The laws for age requirements for several things (going out, events), is perfect. The economy is slowly getting better. I live in a pretty decent place considering i live so far in the east. There's a huge populated swimming lake close to me and the city's aren't that far away.
