New Xbox
In roughly 6 hours after this post Microsoft will most likely unveil the next Xbox. (Xbox 720 or Infinity).
Edit; Xbox One Discussion |
I've been looking forward to this, I just hope it's not a flop or overhyped.
|
Can't wait.
|
I'm pretty excited :]
|
yes, now pc games can finally look better
|
I'm still rocking my Game Cube. So screw y'all and yo' X-Boxes.
|
Wow.
|
Conference blew. Only thing that grabbed my attention was the Halo TV Series.
|
Hmm, definitely lived to my expectations, wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary but I'm happy and i'm sure a lot of cod gamers are too, with the ability to now record and edit gameplay footage which you can upload straight to the web. Plus there have been 8 new franchises that have been announced, so will be looking forward to those franchises and the new console.
|
Probably the worst console reveal I have ever seen. Worst than the Wii U. Nothing in the video interested me at all except Quantum Break. Oh a new Call of Duty! Oh another Forza! Oh more bland annual installments of EA sports games! Not to mention that the console blocks used games. The console is bland and looks like a cable box, the controller is basically the same, and 70% of the conference was about television and movies. Its almost as if Microsoft wants to make an Apple TV instead of a gaming console now.
I'm not even sure this thread is in the right section. |
Being an Xbox and Xbox 360 fan I couldn't find one thing I liked about the reveal.
-Focused on TV and crap while not revealing anything enticing video game-wise -Focused on gesture and voice control gimmicks -Looks like a black Wii U -Why did they name it the Xbox One when it's their third console? -controller looks like a third party madcatz or something -Hate the Windows 8 gui I think Microsoft is just being GREEDY by trying to appeal to a broader audience with all this other crap. They put gaming in the backseat. I'm not mad at them for doing that but I won't be buying a console that doesn't prioritize gaming. I've been loyal to Microsoft but I don't see myself owning an Xbox One any time in the foreseeable future. |

The 15 years down the road problem can be fixed easily what I am more concerned about is the activation.
1) You need to be online to activate a game since installations are mandatory to play game 2) So this means anyone without internet won't be able to play games? There is also a fee to play the game on a second account? Does this mean no split screen without paying? Still many questions to be answered but it sounds like a huge hassle and a way to squeeze customers for more money. Sony's stock has also risen a couple points while Microsoft's has declined. |
Microsoft took this last gen, now they're over killing it. Time for Sony to step back into the role of the dominant console, or possibly even a new platform.
|
They're making this console for more casual gaming, I see exactly what they're doing. They just want the console to appear to a broader fan base. But does anyone have a link to the full reveal video? I watched it but my brother didn't and he wants to see it.
never mind I got it |

I like the looks. I think I'll end up getting one, but I have an NES and SNES or a Retron to buy first;)
|
Yey, I can't take a game over when I go to play at my nephews house. I like how video games seem to be doing better and better over the years, yet publishers act as though it's impossible to get a sale anymore.
|
I'd rather wait for Valve's console so I don't have to re-buy all games I already have. And the lack of backwards compatibility with 360 is another reason I won't buy this.
|
Xbox One. Weird name as its the 3rd xbox...
It looks like they want it to be more of an entertainment hub than a gaming console. I was going into this feeling excited... but to me it looks like a smart tv WITH gaming included. |
They should have stuck to gaming imo. It seems Xbox is just trying to take over EVERYTHING entertainmentwise now, and I can't help but feel that if they just stuck with gaming, and showed various games rather than television, it would have gone over a lot better. When I think Xbox, I thinking gaming, not media.
|
looks quite bad. it's as if they tried taking the original xbox and making it look modern.
the only good i see here is that the d-pad is finally a d-pad, not that disc d-pad bull**** they had on the older ones. Quote:

I haven't really watched any reviews for it yet, but judging by the comments here and all over YouTube it sounds like crap. I didn't like the new console look and controller. Looks like a DVD player. |
XBOX go home.
|
I'm really running out of reasons to like / support Microsoft.
|
I think after a while, xbox could be a really good entertainment and media icon. For now I want gaming so the 360 is good enough.
|
Nooo! A new Xbox! Now I have to buy it!

Aww man, that duct tape glue is never going to come off.

The Xbox 1 is supposed to be your center of your entertainment. Microsoft does not want to be out done by Sony. And sony doesnt want to be out done by Microsoft. Your dont need wifi to play campaign on cod or something. And why you guys hating Microsoft the gotta do what they gotta do. People need to make a profit. Yes the Xbox 1 is a dumb name well there is a reason for everything.
And yes there is a new cod and yes a new forza. But they aren't just going to stop a HUGE money maker. Don't think they are going to stop for a long time. Until inception become real (or not). Just what is the big deal that there is a new cod or forza other people are excited for it. |

You guys think Sony is NOT going to do the same thing. Well think again they are just going to give a blurry black box that is your entertainment system.
And why are you guys hating so early what if this thing is the new best thing on the planet We still have about 4-5 months still Guys how you guys are is like "oh no why did Stephen make era available to the android. Now there are hackers" |

Microsoft pitched us a voice controlled tv box and showed us the same ganmes that always come out. Madden, Fifa, CoD, and Forza. Sony pitched game after game after game. This is hilarious. Hit the nail on the head. He made a good point in his rant...there is no reason to buy an Xbox now instead of a PC with the activation codes and mandatory installs. |

I honestly think Microsoft as a whole will slowly die because of Windows 8. They forgot about the people who make having a computer worth it and turned it into a smartphone.

I just don't see why you guys are hating so early we still have months till we can buy it. And if you guys don't want to see the the cod, madden, and forza then suck it up. Really this is all you are really going to get. Because not many new franchises are going to pop up. And what if Sony decides to do the same thing as Xbox did. We don't know much right now all we can do really is just wait. |

They make tons of money off patent licensing and royalties alone. Every time an Android phone is sold Microsoft is paid in royalties for example. Thousands of businesses use Windows to run their companies etc. I don't like the direction they are going for the future but they have a **** ton of money. Quote:

Well more importantly the raw power. More processes can run simultaneously ie more enemies on screen, more dynamic objects onscreen...it gives developers less limitations to what they can do.

Game developers aparantly have forgotten what makes a game: the gameplay.. They focus too much on looking unnecessarily good and not putting enough focus in actually making enjoyable and well made gameplay. |
