So I got bored and designed a world chat system and tested it with a few friends

I'm thinking of releasing it, but it would cost you like $50 per message sent. It would send the message to everyone, it can be used to make friends / recruite for gangs etc

If you tap the players head it brings up their profile

what do you think? suggestions / feedback please. Please ignore the background (the blue, I was just testing it before i make it look purdy)

I really like the idea, most mmorpgs have this. $50 is a bit hefty though, if you were to make friends on the chat, after a conversation, you'd find yourself ~$1000 down. Maybe have the stuff you want to advertise in a special colour? so it stands out more?(but it would cost $50) And have the normal chat in the basic white so it would be free or cheaper.
Also, when are you updating Rufus' hat shop again, i saw a day or two back you said you'd do it but you never did? :<

This is for announcements and advertisements, not a full conversation. If you wanted to talk to someone you met on there, you could just tap their head and bring up their profile to message them.

The game is already enough of a chat room why even bother to add this.

How about you make it like broadcast messages and someone could send a "broadcast message" for 50 gralats?

well what if you make a button in options that you can check that says "no player broadcast messages" or something

I don't even play Era, but i saw this beside the Era thread so i decided to check it out. Anyway, it seems cool, but i definitely wouldn't do the broadcast message thing, especially if it's only 50$. People with a lot of money in the game would use it to spam annoying stuff... Lol

Can there be an option so we don't have to see the broadcasted messages by other players? .___.

$50 :\ if I spent that on gralat packs I'd have 100k

How about spamming? How are you going to minimize the chances od spamming ? Button to apply it?

The cost ($50) would stop a lot of spam.

wow 50 gralats seriously? thats gotta be a joke. make a world chat pack then for like $1.99 or something. charging money to send messages sounds completely rediculous to me and you would just make other users mad

It´s to prevent spam. A lot of people would just buy it and keep spamming.

I don't think this would work. It seems like just asking for spam. Once again you'd need a option to disable it. On pc with less players it works, but can you imagine what would happen with all these players using it?

It's brilliant for advertisement purposes other than that it has no significance. People will spam but they'll also lose 50$ lol

Nevertheless, after playing with it for a few minutes I think it's brilliant! however; it would be so difficult to read such messages on an iPod. I would suggest possibly different tabs for each announcement such as Trading / Buying / Selling / Gang etc and filter it accordingly.

There's Gang chat, that stops excisting when you clear the Gang tag. You should create new "link" ( dunno what they really are :D ) in that window, where are all stuff like, House,Gang House, Gangs, Feedback , fb ... You get it :D? That "link" could be named: "World Chat" and in that link could be buttons "join" and "leave". Maybe in future we may have different World chat Channels?

Could something like this be implemented into gang chat? Instead of having gang pms there's a (free) chatroom for each specific gang?

What about a place where you can view advertisements? Or messages? Like an in game forum. Anyway, I like the world chat idea. 50$ is reasonable. Players just have to make sure their messages are worth being sent. In addition, I just posted about a recruiting house with a similar but different ideas for gang recruiting. I like the world chat idea.

What about a toggle button for blocking and enabling gang ally messages?

I don't think you should have to pay to chat, instead limit a player to 1 message every 3 minutes or something but I would recommend adding a button icon on the screen to activate it. Very nicely done though. I assume staff have administration rights?

You are not just chatting, basically you are sending a message to all players.

The people who complain that you shouldn't have to pay, will be the same people complaining about the spam
