Graals Population Increase due to Android Release of the game.
 

Has anyone seen any population growth on both Era and/or Classic servers due to the release of the game on Android?

Nope.

Because the same people who used to play and are still active on the forums are playing now too, but it's not very noticeable and also because you need a US account with credit card on the Appstore and nobody uses the Amazon appstore anyway.

Why was the Amazon appstore used instead of the Google Play store anyway?

While the iOS app store has well over 800,000 active apps and Google Play sports more than 600,000, the Amazon app store has only about 75,000.

You don't need a credit card to download from the amazon appstore. Your account is already made when it asks you to put in a credit card so all you have to do is leave the page you made your account on and download the amazon appstore and login.

that may be so, but i think more people view the iOS app store rather than Amazon and graal would be found by more people? than on amazon, wouldn't it?

Not really, kinda like when graal facebook came out, no real noticable increase. Mainly the people playing on Android are people who already played Graal in the first place.

Until they put it on google play, I doubt we'll see many new players. I imagine he might be putting it just on amazon first as a form of large scale testing, so that the app has a good impression to new users(which is good, AFAIK the android client had a few issues at release)

Or, it might be that the whole business model he's using doesn't work with google play(he said something about that a while back)

I'm just glad that Graal is accessible through Android period.

i understand why it was on the amazon app store but why not put it on both? it was a pain in the ass to get the amazon app store.

The keyboard on android kinda sucks in landscape on graal. I found a keyboard that works though, but with no autocorrect option :(

What happens when classic and era become unplayable due to the population increase?

That's what I was afraid would happen.. I don't want to run around era with 2000+ people... Delteria will be worse because everybody from classic and era are gonna mix together, this will be interesting.

This won't happen, as of players must stay up to date to the latest devices. Soon the minimum required device to simply spar would be an iPad 2, else you will lag out before logging in.

i cant log off Era on my android unless i turn the whole phone off, if I press the home button like you would on an iPhone or iPad, it seems to close it, but it doesnt log me off, it doesnt even keep me paused, it just keeps me logged on.... its fxcking annoying.

Through all of this... iZone still has under 500 players on average. Lawl

We can keep upgrading our servers, it's just that client is a thing to be scared of. You will probably lag out if you have lower devices, like all game...
