Overview

I am happy to announce today that we are working on a Kingdoms iPhone project.

Looking at GK's current systems, we have decided to scrap them. As a result, we have completely rebuilt GK's system from the ground up. This includes the spell system, combat system, monsters, humans, interface and much more. We are no longer using any portion of the mudlib on this server. Not a single piece of script has been copied over from Graal Kingdoms at this point. Currently we have completed enough work on the server to create playable content, but we're not done yet.

I am not going to go in depth describing the server plans, however, I will say that it is planned to be similar to most other MMORPG (but simpler), and using Graal Kingdoms' graphics. Most of the aesthetic effects on the server are using the latest technologies.

What Positions Are Available (in order of importance, subject to change as project nears completion)

1. Advanced LEVEL DESIGNERS capable of being creative and developing unique ideas and solutions for common problems that any level designer might encounter. This is not to say that you cannot ask other members of the team for help.
2. GRAPHIC ARTIST willing to create aesthetic graphics (bushes, potted plants, possibly houses, tiles, etc).
3. Efficient and top-of-the-line scripting. Any SCRIPTERS applying must be able to create things extremely efficiently while still maintaining pleasant composure on the product. Must be willing to accept advice in order to improve yourself.
4. STORYLINE WRITER. This is a very important position, and will not be hired easily. I am not looking for recycled lord of the rings plots and ideas. This person will be in charge of helping design a linked storyline for the player to follow with quests and content. Must have nearly scholar-level English writing skills; must be creative and have a wild imagination.

It is important that we (as a team) stay focused. As a result, every single position will be working directly under me.
We will be collaborating and communicating via AIM, email and google docs.


Requirements

• Positive, respectable attitude. Poor attitudes are nonconstructive and unhealthy for the entire team and will not be tolerated at all.
• AIM, email, and a google account.
• Must not share a computer with anyone else on Graal.
• Willingness to work even if your ideas are rejected.
• Ability to not share work and ideas outside of the team. If you share any of our confidential plans via screenshot, logs, or any method, I will punish you without question.

Payments and Compensation

Aside from working with the latest technologies in Graal, you may be compensated (depending on your work ethic) with access to Graalv6, gelats, promised staff position upon release, working with an organized goal-oriented team, resumé material, access to Kingdoms Debug and Kingdoms iPhone, and even more.

Even Tig deserves credit and shouldn't have his work plagiarized.

The saddest part is that you didn't even use the correct capitalizing for "iPhone" although it's done in the thread. After copying and pasting the thread, you couldn't even bother to make the title "correct".

It's really hard for me to take you seriously right now.

I hope you guys don't drive this game into the ground like you did with Kingdoms PC.

Honestly the mudlib part of PC GK was what made it mostly good. I don't want this server to turn into another generic MMORPG.

Is it sure that you are going to be on the Appstore?

It was under development for ages under Tig, if it was Tig it will of been.

The levels are differents no? With forms ect..? Like on pc

Nice to see this project being revived, Graal Kingdoms looked awesome in concept when it was first announced, and I was dissapointed when the project died.

I know you said the project is being recreated from the ground up, but does that mean you're starting over and not even using what was created for Kingdoms iPhone before it switched management?

I really interested to see the new Battle system

We are using Graal Kingdoms sprites and a new tileset, similiar to the terrain tileset.

I will try to show off some nice screenshots soon.

I would apply as a graphic artist but I have no idea how does the server look. Is it made pixel by pixel or with tools? I can do levels as well. I don't have gold subscription or gelats, does the server provide these?

I could probably help with the storyline. I've been yearning to find a new place to write for a while now. However, I don't really know much about Graal Kingdoms PC but I have a source where I can get such information. From there I could probably work out a basic outline.

Tileset just looks like a remake of Classic lol.

The last picture is essentially just a remake of classic tiles with some gk thrown in there lol, its not really standing out on its own there if thats all its doing

the levels are very cluttered. it doesn't really suit the tileset.

I implore anyone looking at this to not apply, and not waste your time. Nicox is the WORST kind of admin, incapable of any kind of dev, he is literally one of the "can I b admin plz" players that manages to get to be an admin somehow. Example of this are easy to see in his posts and the fact he doesn't post this to the official forums, where most recognize his ****.

Kingdoms iPhone was promising under tig, katie and alarid a few years back, but I'm nearly positive it will turn out to be a very generic rehash of the original kingdoms pc, despite what filth nico spews about it.

He does not want to be friends or to help you get better.

He wants you to make a server for HIM.

"manages somehow"? Dude, are you trying to be serious, atleast a bit? Tig wouldn't just hand out GK and GK iPhone to someone he doesn't trust, and I think we know how Tig used to act. It merely seems like you just try to make him look bad, I've seen some of HIS work and I have to say, it's some of the best I've seen.

Idk how much of this Nico gossip is true, so I'm just stating what I've experienced with him :P I've only worked with Nico for two months or so on iZone, but I don't think he is that bad of an admin. Nico is practical, and most importantly, he makes things happen. Even if an update is last minute, it happens. If Nico is as stubborn (in a good way rofl) as he was when I was working with him, then I have hopes for this server. After all, they're doing all the systems from scratch again-- things could be taken in a creative direction. It's still early in its development.

Why does the title say it is an iPhone server when it isn't? Is it for sure going to be an iServer? Just wondering.
