Smash Burger VS. Five Guys

Well? Which high profile burger chain is better? Five Guys has been around since 1986 and is much more known, so it obviously has an advantage. Also it has over 1000 stores in the United States so it has even more of an advantage there. But on the other hand, Smash Burger was founded in 2007 and is rapidly growing at a remarkable rate. In the past 5 years it has accumulated over 200 restaurants in the United States.

Both restaurants have won many awards over the years, but which one is better in your opinion? Sound off below! (It is recommended to only vote if you have been to both of them)

I've never had Smash Burgers before. I wasn't too crazy about Five Guys though.

Five Guys are really dry imo. You can interpret that however you like.

That's why I'm not crazy about Five Guys. The meat didn't have a lot of "flavor" in them. No double-entendres intended, again.

I've never had Smash Burger before, but the 2 most popular burger chains where I live is Five Guys and In n Out Burger. I would prefer in n out over five guys anyday though.

I've had In n Out before. It's pretty decent.

I only have a Five Guys in my area, and I don't find it all that amazing.

On a side note, of course Pimpsy would make this thread.

Here in Canada, we only have five guys, but Hero burgers > all.

So no one in this thread has ever had Smash Burger? I guess its even more obscure than I thought.
sort of makes me wonder why people are still voting then

I've had Smash Burgers once and I really liked it. It's hard to decide between Smash Burgers and 5 Guys but I think I'll give my vote to smash burgers just because the Burger was pretty damn amazing; just the right amount of seasoning and it was pretty juicy.

Whenever I go to Five Guys, there are never actually five guys in there. IT ENRAGES ME.

The first time I saw a Smash Burger was on Saturday during my trip to Charlotte for rugby. I've never seen a Five Guys.

The one I've been to looks like it has more females than males working there. But Idk, people have weird hobbies.

The Smash Burger I'm thinking of was near our hotel, and our hotel was down the interstate a bit. It was next to a Chick-fil-a.

(also, OMG HARRIS TEETERS EVERYWHERE)

Yeah in the shopping center called Stonecrest? It's right across from a giant church that I go to and yeah Harris Teeter bought out all the other grocery stores on the area like Lowes Food; there is literally a Harris Teeter at almost every single intersection.

I was wondering why there were two Harris Teeters like a quarter mile apart...
