Just curious, since I'm looking into developing a Graal PC PlayerWorld.

How many of you would be interested in a post-apocalyptic, wasteland themed PC PlayerWorld?

As in a fallout-esque world?

Dude, there's Maloria, Bomy Island and Zone PC.

If it's a post-apocalyptic whereas the world is ravaged and you're a hero trying to save it, that's definitely like iZone's storyline xD But post-apocalyptic could be cool if taken in a unique direction. Idk; since it's a wasteland, it could be focused on re-building towns or even building towns/camps (guilds each have their own and it kinda works like a guild house?). With stylish graphics, it could be pretty cool

I have personally never played zone. Couldn't be bothered.
In a way it would be like fallout.
Just a huge desert, focused around scavenging, etc, etc.
Sometimes to get what you need, you'd have to battle it out with other players.

Fallout was a awsome game to play. If you get something going i am sure it would be a awsome server!

Well this is pretty good feedback.
I thought over the subject and some features would require alot of scripting and such.

But here are some features that would help make this unique. Feel free to inbox me ideas.



Quests/Tasks/Missions/Whatever

Until the players get introduced into gangs and basing (further described below), questing will take up most of their time. There would be 400+ quests, with more being added everyday, just to assure that players wouldn't get bored. Thinking too big?



Gangs and Bases

The gang system would be just like any other server, anyone is able to create a gang.
There would be 3-5 bases on the map. These bases would take the form of oil rigs, factories and pumping plants. You control the oil, you control the world. Ha-ha.

Now, this is where the fun comes in. It'd take some work to script, but some guns, all vehicles and just a ton of stuff will need oil. So these oil bases would cover zones of the map. And there would be oil/gas stations located around the map, some in base zones, some free of influence. Whenever you buy oil for whatever, and it's in a base zone, the gang gets paid, the leader can then divide pay-out to members based on rankings whatever.


The Gov'

I'm also thinking either to make this fully npc, or maybe auto-recruiting players after a certain task is done. The remaining scraps of the government...They would be trying to regain control of the wasteland. Don't know how this would work. Requires further thought for now. Lol.



Other Random Scraps

Alignment - Towns might have their gates closed to you based on your alignment. Are you a honest person trying to survive? Or a barbarian terrorizing everything in sight?

Map - Basically the map would be pitch dark from the moment you start. In order to actually see anything on your map, you have to explore first. This should help players get a feel of the environment first.



Now if I were to go about creating this server, it would require a HUGE team.

This is just a brainstorm thread to see how people react to the server ideas.
Just want to see whether it would be a waste of money and time, or be a good investment.

I am keeping a list of people that would like to help though.
I'm also searching for a willing tileset artist(s) to help with this.
I'm actually about to go put a thread up searching for some.

Yeah, basically, that's the whole tileset. A lot of dead plants, sand, polluted water, ramshackle buildings and ruins. Though there would have to be a section carrying a dark, gloomy, steel factory-type look. Tiles which could be used to make steel looking buildings, dark alleyways, etc.

I never play Fallout.
I can do gani, levels and some GFX.

Personally, i'm working on some project, "game-like":

-Graal Hunter, a graal version of Monster Hunter
GS2 GraalOnline
-GraalWorld (not the final name): a graal version of Animal Crossing
GS1 GraalReborn

2 great games i love, and i think it's a good thing to make them online in 2D

So the server has a theme much like the one of a horror survival game?

No. Those tiles would be used to build the government cities.
They'd have to be more advanced looking, since it's the government and all, but dark and gloomy since it's post-apocalypse.

Back in service guys. 99% is a terrific manager. He Far bypeyond better than the owner of Demonium, and yes we may have some of our old staff from Demonium join us again. 99% has any basic information about the server so please ask him.

Everyone who applied to me on Demonium, will have to reapply for Wastelands if they wish to join us. Be warned. The evaluation will be much harder.

I can help you with management if yah want

You guys should make an actual application instead of having someone send 3-5 pieces of work. Like have them make a weapon, have them shade an already created weapon, and something else.

I didn't put too much effort into the applications for Demonium, but ours will be hard as hell.
We're trying to display Graal in a way it's never been displayed before.

You should at least put the current staff list not for attraction, but because that's how detailed your server's info is supposed to be at certain spot.

The graphics are complex and well shaded. You'd be surprised.

That is why I need the best graphics artist that are free for working on our server. I'll set up a application for graalians later.
