This is worse than the Columbine massacre.
My condolences go to the families of those affected.

Psycher! 12-14-2012 07:14 PM

I've been seeing this all over social networks. I hope that the families of the dead will hopefully find a way to cope with their loss.

Remorse 12-14-2012 07:20 PM

someone had JUST brought this up in class

Godoco 12-14-2012 07:20 PM

Why can't he just shoot himself, other than harming the lives of 26 innocent teachers and students. The audacity of some people in this country.

Remorse 12-14-2012 07:22 PM

pretty damn sad

no kidding

Rexx 12-14-2012 07:26 PM

The shooter killed his mother who was a teacher at the school, possibly the motive behind the shooting. The shooter's father (brother?) has also been found dead in his apartment in New Jersey.

Getting a lot of different information from different sources, can't guarantee accuracy of this information.

Emera 12-14-2012 07:35 PM

That's just sick. Prayers go out to those involved :(

Yephenpeace 12-14-2012 07:58 PM

I am literally disgusted by this. I think the fact that he decided to kill kids in kindergarten is the most sickening part of all.

Young children don't even contribute to society, so there's no way to even possibly rationalize this. If you are mad at society, why would you choose kids? This guy is literally despicable. I don't care how bad his life may have been.

MementoJoker 12-14-2012 08:05 PM

Because that guy's a sociopath.

V. 12-14-2012 08:07 PM

Asshole. Hope he burns in Hell.
Poor kids, honestly, it's a disgrace.

Kiwi 12-14-2012 08:14 PM

That's horrible. And his kid went to it? Because of course scarring your child by killing people isn't enough, it has to be people they know and play with too.

Tyler 12-14-2012 08:15 PM

It really is amazing what filth we live with in the world. Rest in hell ass hole.

The gunner Ryan Lanza was in his twenties, he didn't have a kid there. His mom was a kindergarden teacher.

18 kids and 9 adults dead.

I am really getting disgusted by how many events like this have happened in the past year.

Oh, I must have read it wrong. It's still horrible either way though.

Mofujohn 12-14-2012 08:43 PM

I've been hearing about this all day... I just don't understand how someone could do such a horrible thing.

Pimpsy G. 12-14-2012 08:45 PM

I would like to think that we could get to the point where as with cars, gun ownership would have to come with a liability insurance policy. There are people too crazy or too violence-prone to be trusted with guns and we should take reasonable precautions to filter them out. But that doesn't mean eradicating the 2nd amendment altogether. It can work. Just look at Israel, they are very pro-guns and yet have very few shootings.

MrSimons 12-14-2012 08:52 PM

I have a nasty feeling that this could've aroused from, "Oh, we are all gonna die on the 21st, so I should contribute!"

I highly doubt that is the motive, it is obviously something connected to the shooter's family. These mass shootings around America have occurred much too often in the last few years.

11 of the 30 worst shootings in the past 50 years occurred in the united states, 5 of which happened in the past 5 years.

Actually, Rotting in Jail for 20 years, then the death penalty. But being in jail has it's advantages, like 3 hot meals a day and school.

Near the end of school today, our school had a prayer assembly (all girls Catholic school) for this. Girls started sobbing as they read the article, which made other girls cry, and pretty soon I was trying to hold it in. Such an awful tragedy, I can't even imagine what it'd be like if my sibling or daughter were victim to it.

MrSimons 12-14-2012 10:11 PM

Just a little update, his name was adam lanza, his brother was Ryan.

eric 12-14-2012 10:12 PM

I THINK he did it because he thought 2012 would happen

and by the way

You americans need to stop voting for obama, he makes guns legal and thats probably why your country is so violent and horrific. romney is 10 times better than that obama dude, he probably would have been reasonable and made guns illegal and made smoking in public places illegal, I've been to america it smells like pot, and theres crime every minute. SOLUTION: move to a better place like canada, vote for romney or hide in a box.

I hope that that was sarcasm, whether Obama was president or not this would have happened, guns would not be illegal had Romney been elected. And your depiction of America is rather weak, it does not smell like pot, the only states it is even legal in are Colorado an Washington. I think it is pretty sad you blame it on the president when he had nothing to do with it. And as a side note he did not make them legal, they always have been since the country was founded.

eric 12-14-2012 10:19 PM

he had something to do with it.
he 'lowered the flag'
that really helped those dead kindergarten students.

yeah guns are everywhere in that country common sense grows on trees everywhere else in the world, but legalizing horrible death machines seems to be awesome in america.

Zero02 12-14-2012 10:24 PM

Well, I be a monster if I don't say this but, is sad to know that young children died. Sad enough to make people cry (like I did just recently). May they R.I.P

Lowering the flag is tradition in the country when something tragic happens, nothing new, and I can't see how that is detrimental anyway. Nothing can help those kids. As for guns being legal, it is probably a good thing that they are. Whether they are legal or not people will get a hold of them, and if they are illegal the people a hold of them will be murderers.

Are you from quebec? Because this isn't the first time I've heard someone from quebec go on a pseudo-lunatic rant on how communist and idoitic america is.

Right to bear arms was made back in a time period that a single man couldn't conceal a handgun and use it to kill over 20 people without being caught or stopped.

To our founding fathers the ideal of a pocket sized weapon capable of rapidly firing accurate shots without needing to reload often, that didnt jam, backfire, or require any complex or slow reloading...
It's the equivalent of what a ironman suit that doesnt fly would be to us.

Now please tell me, why you would need a high powered, rapid fire, concealable gun, for protecting your house in the united states?

As for rebelling against a corrupt government, the army has helicopters, bombers, jets, tanks, assault gear, And missiles, does that mean every community is entitled to having all of that available?

If you are in a situation, where you need to defend yourself against over 10 armed hostiles, all attacking in rapid succession, you have probably already broken a law to get into that mess.

We have destroyed almost all of the habitat and population of any American mammal that would pose a threat to us, so yea, you probably don't need that kinda firepower anyway, as if even a grizzly bear would taken over 5 shots anyway.

Police are regulated on what they can use, you let citizens use guns police can't even use, citizens don't even need a personality test and training and such to get a gun, let alone one you can use to kill so many people in a row without being stopped.

I actually live 20 min from here. The principal who was killed (Dawn Hochsprung) was actually the vice principal of the middle school I went too (in danbury ct, not this school) when I was a kid, my grandmother worked in the school system and was Mrs. Hochsprung's personal secretary. I attended the school from 6th-8th grade at the time and was an "office helper" for her and she was an awesome lady, couldnt have met someone who loved her job and cared about the kids more than she did, she will be sadly missed along with the others victims killed & the 20 children she so proudly served. words cannot describe the horror that happened today. Very sad news, it sickens me to no end and hits me very close to home. Simply tragic
