Balloon Spar
 
You guys remember balloon battle from Mario Kart right? This is pretty much the same concept, but in spar form. This gametype will consist of a maximum of 8-10 players. It will take place in a nicely sized, enclosed sparring area. There would be a time limit of 5 minutes unless this were to be a staff hosted event. I think it would be better if it were just a normal game like sparring, guild spar, etc.

All players in the game will start out with 3 balloons.

The goal of the game is for the player to rid the other players of their balloons.

When a player is hit, they will lose their balloon.

When you lose all of your balloons you're out. The winner is the last one remaining with their balloon(s).

It's a great idea. It'd be a nice change from the usual spar and it would actually provide something to do. Congrats on coming up with such a good idea.

So....... what your saying is basically a 10-man spar with half hp and balloons are just for visual?

:0 maybe an event more similar to Mario Kart's Coin Battle would be interesting?
Gralats are placed on battle field; at beginning, players race to get gralats. During a 3min battle, 1hit = drop 1gralat. (not exactly "drop" but gralat is subtracted from opponents wallet and added to your wallet. because its too easy to just turn around and get it back) a end of 3min, you keep the money you earn. (person who leaves with the most money gets an extra prize?)

Sounds like this to me. Here's an idea: What if when you have three balloons attached, you run slowly? When you have a balloon popped and you are left with two, you run a bit faster. Then when you are down to your last balloon, you run at full speed. This system introduces both an advantage and disadvantage at all times, due to the connection between having more health than others and being faster than others. You could have one balloon left, but it may be easier to take down your opponents with three balloons because they can't run away as easily. Then again, you can lose with just one hit, so you have to be careful!

Again, just a thought. :)

Would it be like mario if you hit them a certain way you steal their balloon(I think, havent played mario cart in ages)? Would add more challenge otherwise it just seems you have 3 lives. I like the idea however

Not a bad suggestion. I personally would like it with just like it where everything is set equal, but I can see it either way.

Keeping everything equal would definitely work, but I feel like we can be more creative than that! I mean, doesn't that just make it a 1.5 heart PK fest with large distracting balloons?

I was actually thinking about that, but couldn't really figure out a way to steal a balloon from a player. In Mario Kart you could steal a balloon by boosting into the player.

I would honestly have to see it in action before judging. It all depends how much faster/slower the other players are compared to each other because you want the person with three balloons to have a fighting chance. It would add a little more flavor to it though.

That might be a little too easy to grab one. At first I was thinking the glove could be used as a method, but it might be too glitchy.

It would get rid of people who aren't thinking strategy right off the bat but bring it down to 5 people left and I don't think people will willingly leave their backs exposed. Also depends on shape/size of the arena

I like it, only problem is this is basically the same as normal spar just with 3 health, maybe if it actually WAS like mario cart where everytime you hit someone you GAIN a balloon it would work and be much better?

Also if thats been said then sorry, not bothered to read the other posts
