New Classic server please

Can someone who is talented at scripting please make a new Classic iphone server? I really don't like the current one because it is more of a graphical chat room now run by gralat packs, unlike it's past goals.
What bomber(Stefan) actually said on TA almost 2 years ago:

"Our latest game has arrived in the App Store, an online game in retro-look. Right now it's mainly about chat and sparring, we focused on making the gameplay fast and fun. GraalOnline.com is an online game which focuses on player created content and we plan to add an online in-game map editor with an update soon.
The game is free with an one-time in-app purchase for more customization. Let me know if you have any questions."

"Right now the game is mainly about chat and sparring, we thought it's best to focus on that first instead of making some halfhearted quests or so...

The plan is to add an online map editor so that the players can design their own houses and even quests (imagine building your house and adding some monsters, the door to the next room opens when the monsters are killed). GraalOnline is mainly about player created content, so we want to bring that to the iPhone. We decided to make it free so that a lot of people can enjoy it and we can bring the game to a bigger audience, and then eventually later charge 0.99 for additional servers / worlds."

"In a few days we plan to enable snow and particles. We are currently trying to find out what players would like most for the next update. An online map editor is already in the works. The PC/desktop version has a lot of additional items (hammer etc.) and quests but they need to be adapted to the iPhone."

Yes that's the goal right now. We wanted to focus on the game play first. Additional content can be added based on player feedback. We are currently working on a way to create your own house (with furniture), and plan to add some baddies (monsters).

please make a fun server that carries on these goals and makes the old graal more fun :(

add monster fights plz

1: costs $3 a month, no way.
2: still nothing to to yet
3: I can't play it on my ipod
4: you didn't even read, the post was suggesting a server based on player created content and role playing.

If only Thor owned graal instead of Stefan and unixmad.

I was thinking about reborn on iPhone before. Very very possible. Whether or not Stefan tries to sue is a different story, which will most likely happen. Unless of course, u change the tiles like he did with Zelda and use a different editor such as a CSS game engine. But yeah I do agree with bringing play-created servers to the iPhone.

There are very few talented Graal developers, and life is very short. Learn what is necessary, and do it yourself.

god no.

They would grow corrupt too... Power always corrupts people. Also, the rules don't say anything about not mentioning Reborn.

so true...its just that we could all sit around for 2 years like i did and try to get a chance to help graal, but dont, it always ends up being some dude from magic who ends up quiting 2 weeks after he is hired for admin.(ex: big pimpin)

(vyse says im at mimics level...)

Costs an Itunes card per month on iClassic to have fun... Whats your point?

NYN 09-30-2011 10:24 PM

My phone bill is $80 a month. $3 bucks a month for how much you play the game? Seriously? Get a job and read my sig.

Winter 09-30-2011 10:44 PM

If you don't like the game, and try to tell people to make a new server just because you don't like it, maybe this isn't the game for you.

ShayneMc 09-30-2011 10:47 PM

I think they should bring PlayerWorlds and level editor to the iPad at least since it has a bigger screen, easier to do the editing, or at least a dedicated PC that is accessible through VNC software for people on their iDevices

phone bill= essential thing needed to keep in contact with others.
graal subscription= some game that I rarely play that I don't need.

I don't play that much lol, how would you know. I used to afk a lot.

BroozeB 10-01-2011 06:05 AM

Graal just refuses to move on, it's stuck in the past...it's literally a link to the past. http://www.graalonline.com/

Just realized they changed the classic pic on that side O.o

I would, but Stefan won't listen to people asking to make facebook/mobile servers except for really famous developers of Graal. Plus I don't want to spend $70 on a playerworld that will most likely fail(I suck at graphics)

Swift 10-01-2011 05:56 PM

Well, try to assemble a team that is notably famous.

That may grab his attention slightly.

LiamGRKelly 10-01-2011 06:20 PM

if u want quests and stuff go download the pc version-.-

PerfectDark 10-01-2011 08:16 PM

Well, servers need to prove themselves first. What good is a playerworld with 30 noob staff more interesting in boot killing each other and spamming /killeveryonelol commands rather than developing being approved for iPhone.

Create a plan first. Detail what your server will be, how it will maintain interest for players. Create a development plan, showing at what point you will release, what will be released and what you intend to work on. When you have this, chat to Unixmad/Stefan and discuss the idea. If they think it.'s interesting, get the server going. You don't need to buy a server to do levels/graphics/sounds/music/cheesecakes . Get a chunk of that done and THEN start thinking about getting a server for the scripting.

Make sure your team is competent and *not* a bunch of loltards before doing this. Once you have the server pretty much downpat, talk to Stefan ask him (or PWA as I have done an iPhone inspection for him) to check the server out. If it's decent, i'd say he'd provide the iPhone integration and get you going. Note that the iPhone requirements are a lot higher than PC world servers. All scripts must be well thoughout, designed and efficient for starters. Must also take the various screen sizes into account and make sure you constantly check your GUIs and such, emulating the sizes.

You should be able to request to allow a device to jump from Classic/Era to your dev server when you're underway.

Basically, it won't happen if you aren't going to do anything.

my main problem is I don't have access to all of the iPhone systems that SNK and iClassic devs have. They all have access to the gui's, inventory systems, movement systems, controls, special iphone api that isn't documented, and much more.

I suppose I could apply for a fb server then make controls for iPhone to port it to both, but that would be very time consuming.

The best I could really do right now would be to make the systems as if they were built for pc, except with more effort towards making it efficient.

I really don't think you know what you're talking about. Your main problem is so insignificant.

The touch controls emulate mouse and key pressing, and everything else is just GUIs along with custom systems.

Design your systems and server around the constraints imposed by the platform you want to deploy it on. (I.e: iOS has Limited processing power, Fixed Screen Resolution, Touch-based)

And as Twinny said, If PWA/Stefan see value in your server as a iOS and FB server they will help you out with it.
