Suicide Prevention Week 2012
Hey guys, so it's the national Suicide Prevention Week! To help out you could help a down kid that's getting bullied, writing love on your wrist can also help. Today I saw a kid getting bullied on the bus ride home and he was walking looking down no headphones and he just looked sad, then I saw these 3 mean girls pointing and laughing I felt really bad by just looking, I wanted to stop them but I couldn't.
Tbh, I feel stupid for posting this thread.. |

Oh and honestly. What is the point of bullying, I mean you're just picking on the kid because hes smaller. Bullying wont get you anywhere in life, it doesn't make you "tough" you're not getting more respect.
@Talon I couldn't :c |
Bullying is a way for people to feel like they have a ground to stand on for whatever reason, be it domestic violence/abuse or failure in school.
|
If only I launched my suicide prevention week prevention week program sooner to prevent this.

The world has ended in hell already

You do realize bullying isn't the only reason for people wanting to kill themselves right? Some people do it for absolutely stupid reasons, like a break up. "ERMAHGERD, MAH GF BREAK UP WITH ME, SO I GO DIE NAO." is probably what goes through their head. Anyway, my point is that bullying isn't the only friggin reason for suicide.
|
Family issues, stress, economic problems, bad relationships, Et cetera. More reasons for people to do suicide.

I guarantee you 90% of the girls saying they're killing themselves because of a breakup are bluffing. My ex used to do this..

I hate it when people use suicide as a form as attention. Making the people with real issues lesser understood and easier to dismiss as a joke. When you see someone in Graal City for example saying they'll kill themselves, it's an obvious bluff. Those people are the ones who should really kill themselves. Most people who are going to actually suicide don't tell anyone, or just one or two people they trust. Attention hoes deserve to die more if anything.

whenever someone says they will commit suicide i tell them to try to do a backflip or 360

Where I'm from, we have had 13 teen suicides in the last few years. The "suicide awareness" hype does absolutely nothing. At my school, it has literally turned into a charade for people to bring positive attention to themselves. After every suicide in my town, people at my school wear yellow, while continuing to judge one another and ignore the people who may need a friend the most. I think people should truly change something, because wearing yellow has become extremely hypocritical and fake in my eyes, thus why I never take part in it. As cheesy as it sounds, loving one another is really the only solution, and that doesn't even always work. Some people have a twisted and warped way of looking at things, and there isn't much people can do about it. Unless of course, they themselves ask for help. Bullying is definitely a cause though, so I'd encourage everyone to just be accepting of one another. One of the main problems in life is that people care far too much about what others think. If you can defeat that mindset, you'll have an easier time accepting and helping others. |

Often times that isn't the case. It's just the mentality where they think they're helping but nothing changes. Sure, there's awareness out there. But who's going to step up and say so-and-so is getting bullied or wants to commit suicide then seek help for them? That's what truly counts. |
Yeah, yeah, it's always fun to joke about suicide until you've been in a situation where you lose a loved one or you almost go through it yourself.

In all honesty the idea of "Suicide Prevention Week" or "Suicide Awareness" is simply stupid, no one is gonna decide "Hey! There is a suicide prevention week, I should go talk with someone about my problems!", and with today's teenage society no one will think "Damn what if that kid I joke about is gonna kill them self? I should be nice to them!", or someone's parents thinking "Hey what if me and my ex's divorce is having a really big impact on our kid's life? I should talk to them about this serious issue! Thanks suicide prevention week!".
To me it's one of those things that gets some applause for the thought but really does absolutely nothing. And now that think about it, I have never even heard of this. No one has mentioned it at my school, no parents know about it, it isn't in the newspaper. And trust me bullying and suicide isn't a rare thing where I live, the district actually requires all schools to participate in an "anti-bully" program, which as a side-note also does nothing to solve any problems involving suicide and or bullying. |

Really, it should e suicide prevention year every year. I don't get these "be nice for a day/week then return to being an ass the next day/week" holidays. Either you feel strongly for wanting something to stop that you invest in making things better full time, or you stop bandwaggoning and continue being a cancer to the human race. EX: Higbey

I remember when someone posted things about that we should stop bullying on Facebook.
3 days later he beat someone considered weak up for no apparent reason. Oh the hypocrisy.. |
