Hello, my name is Talon. Welcome to my art thread. I'm a decently skilled graphic artist, and I like to channel my creativity and thoughts into their reflective works of art, usually in the style of forum signatures. You may have seen some of my artwork around the site - Tyler used to use one of my signatures, Duality - and I've seen other cool attempts at my many forum signature tutorials (I really encourage you to check them out, they're pretty simple and they look great). I've posted this thread to share my various creations I make from time to time - that's the point of art, yeah? To express yourself and amaze others, and yourself, with talent you didn't know you have. That's why I love art, in all forms - music, scuplting, graphics, architecture, literature, and so forth. Anyway, that's enough of an intro for now. Comments and critique are encouraged. Welcome to my ****ty art thread.

I was going for a brighter, happier look on this piece. I think I got it down, but the overall flow doesn't seem right to me. It's still a work in progress. Also, Haruhi has the best render flow.

Yeah, the signature was rather basic in terms of difficulty. The background and effects were made by scratch with brushes and smudging - the only thing on that signature I didn't make by myself was the render.

Another Haruhi signature, because she's amazing like that. Still a simple signature, yet retaining a 'professional' vibe to it. I like this one. Again, all made from scratch with the exception of the background strip and render.

Gonna do a couple more in a few hours, and I want some recommendations on subject matters. Give me some before I make 30 more Haruhi sigs.

How can u do this? what program did u use?

This is cool but seems complicated how hard is it?

The two signatures I've posted so far only took less than 45 minutes, but that's for me. First-time users, maybe 2-3 hours for the same signature. Not trying to sound like I'm amazing or anything; I still have a lot left to learn.

What about a sig about Digimon/Persona 4?

Did this one to step away from the anime signatures, and went for a more serious, 'epic' look on this one. Again, it's still a work in progress as I need to fine tune some of the details a little bit more. I took the render from League of Legends. I think this one flows really well, though I wish the render provided had a smaller 'dragon-arm' thing that protrudes into the left third of the image, but I can't nitpick. The colors seem a bit highlighted, but it might just be me or my monitor.

Idk, but anyways how do you do this in such little time? ._.

I vizualize how I want it to look in the end, and just do it. Change things along the way; usually gratuitous shortcuts occur when I'm doing effects that turn out really nice.

My friend asked me to see how decent of a signature I could make in less than 30 minutes with nothing but a render. So, I did. The background was made with duplicates of the render, smudged and blurred. I know it isn't too good, but I hope you guys like it anyway.

I tried another attempt at an intense look like the previous one I uploaded, titled "Incandescence", but I went with a different color scheme and backdrop style. I think it turned out okay, but it could have been much better. The render and stock I chose were just bad decision making. It was rushed, as I was planning to watch some Haruhi right after I made it - another mistake I made. Also, whenever I try to replicate artwork I've done before, the second rendition is always worse. Thinking aloud aside, I hope you guys enjoy this one.

Also, if anyone would like a tutorial made on a certain piece, feel free to let me know by posting here. Depending on if I'm in the mood or not, and if I have time to spare, I'll see what I can do. And I won't make tutorials that I know no one will follow. It's the reason I stopped making them in the first place. I just get 2 reps, a 'wow nice work' and no one tries them. Ever. EVER
