One Idiot Mistake
 

This is a public apology to those of the iEra community, especially those involved with events. If this does not apply to you, please do not feel obligated to read this or post irrelevant comments.

I, along with some other members of the gang Idiotism, would like to apologize for some previous and reoccurring actions that we have done. For those not fully aware of the situation, let me explain:
Idiotism was a gang unintentionally filled with active event players. The leaders of the gang chose to recruit friends, however, most friends were met through the event house. Well, some of us became very good at winning events, to the point where the gang could win 5 consecutive events as a whole. This was our first mistake, because soon we were preventing many players from earning their event coins, especially in team events such as tts. A few months later, many of the members accomplished their goals in regards to the event shop, which would lead to our second mistake. I came up with an idea at the time, why not win events then leave without taking the event coin? From our point of view, this idea was flawless. Admins would be able to host more than 5 events, and we could easily shut out all other players until the person we wanted the ec to go to would win. We paid no attention to how this would effect all of the other players. First, we would waste the time of the event host and the players, and afterwards we were hoarding event coins, something many of us resented. Well, we needed a wake-up call, and that came when HomelessWitch decided to stand up against our plan. After several win-and-leaves in her events, she decided to open the event, and right before she started, she would warp the entire gang out. This didn't affect us the first time, but then when our long-time friend Waffle encouraged it, we were stunned. Then we figured out what we did wrong.

To conclude this story, Idiotism was messed up from the beginning. The gang turned many of us into the selfish players that we tried to avoid, and we didn't notice. I am glad to say that the gang is no longer how it was before, now with 20 less members, so there will no longer be any reason to warp out the gang Idiotism. I would like to apologize again, and briefly inform the current and next generation of event winners: If you are going to events to play the way they were not intended, don't go at all. Think about the other players as well, not just yourself and your friends.

I personally don't take part in events. But, I respect you for realising your mistake.

I Agree Those players Who Joined Another Gang,good at events,and was once in Idiotisms,Wouldn't That still be illegal they're just too selfish that they can't let us win not even 1 event.

Hopefully they will stop. If not, "Event Disruption" is supposed to be a reason to jail certain players if this gets out of hand.

Its a hard choise to be event hoarder or to make HW kick you out of event. Bobo nice thread its exactly what i was thinking about... I mean that part about leaving the ec. I was doing it so admin host more events but HW destroyed our plan thats sad.

I never knew there is a rule about taking or not taking the ec o.o no one told us its illegal... But im not sure it is.

Yeah, now hopefully I won't get crap about why idiotism has 5 members now. at first, it was a joke and we wanted them to host more events, but as it turns out, we wasted the hosters and players time. I won't try to justify what we did, nor will I justify that it was completely bad, but when some people started blaming waffle for not stopping HW, things fell apart.

Dont apologize for winning events. If you have a skill then use it. But if you are purpopsely wining events to shut out other users trying gain EC, that's a problem.

No, the problem is we won the events, but said "leave" so the event was a waste of time for the hoster because they weren't able to give away the event coin.

I saw Yami and weird818 in events just now, as well as faliure and yogy. dude was hosting, not sure if that has something to do with it. Now im not so sure how sincere this appology is.

I believe those players are there to win the event like it was supposed to be, which I cannot stop them from doing... However they should not manipulate the events (through winning then leaving) to give the event coin to a specific person.

Because they werent on idiotism tag considering they're all kicked. :) besides failure and maybe because HW didn't warp em out

By continuously winning event after event, then leaving without taking the event coins, a player or group of players would be able to choose who they want or do not want to win. If a certain player who they want to win is in second place behind them, they could stop short and let that player win. If a player who they do not want to win is in second, they could win the event and prevent all others from earning their ecs. This is the main reason why we had to end Idiotism and discourage win-and-leaves, which also wastes the time of the event host and players.

Even though your all spread out, each individually can still suck up all the EC's. So it doesn't make a damn difference. Unless we pick out the specific people who are good at it, put a limit on them.

From what I know, many of the former Idiotism members share a common philosophy with poorface and myself. Some of us, as I said before, resent hoarding event coins (in my case, because of past experience with hoarders) and refuse to obtain any ecs. There are still some who are trying to accomplish an event related goal, and I have no right to stop them. However, these players should not be able to "suck up all the EC's".

You and poorface are the only ones i dont see at events anymore. I thank you for not taking all the ec.

That's why we didn't pick up the ecs...I guess we should just deal with barely 5 events a day, if we're lucky enough to be on for them.

Also, only some of us do not want event coins. Weird and yami still want things in the event shop, so you can't blame them. And you shouldn't blame the ones who didn't take ecs either, they just wanted a little more fun

Bobo I applaud you responding and apologizing, we need more players able to recognize and respond maturely and own up to their own mistakes, glad to see HW did something positive for once, most of the times I hear about her she is doing something bad ,


I believe certain restrictions should be put on the "elite" event winners to give all players a chance, maybe the ability to mark certain players to be unable to participate in "novice events"?

I respect all former Idiotism members, and I would appreciate it if no one talks bad about them. Think it, I don't care. Say it, and I won't like it.

Also, I don't believe it fair to just block all of a gang for what a few do. It's unfair to those who still want the ecs. And, blocking event players from events is like blocking a pker from Pking. It's not right. I believe hw did a good thing, just a little extreme. She could have just had a stern talk with us or something, explaining that we were wasting everyone's time.

how about all players that have earned over a certain amount of ec in total are tagged, given some little showy item, but also tagged so they cannot participate in any event that the hoster sets as a novice event, thus newer players get a chance, while the "elite" are not punished and are not completly shut out.

That's a nice idea, but wouldn't it require a lot of work to go into logs and find out how many events someone, everyone, has won?

nice lie, when you didnt pick up the ec it got wasted, not given away. if you just do it for fun, you would have just stopped short and let whoever was in second place win, be like bobo, own up and stop, wait till staff figure out how to make it more fair and accept the limits and be happy they havent made it so all of idiotism is banned permenatly from events

sometimes you need to accept it to make the game fair and more fun for the majority. plus, ec doesnt matter to you, so it really shouldnt matter.

How would we know it was wasted? We thought they did an extra event. And I am not one of the ones who did not want ecs, I collected them for items I wanted, until recently when I achieved my goals through the achievements.

Fair. So not letting people play because they're good at it is fair? I think not.

Amen to Higbey. No, don't literally limit the EC for them, but I'm just so sick of them hogging all the EC. Not giving the other players a chance. Don't give me the "I'll win EC, and give it you" crap.

Problem is, you've been asking me to recruit you for quite some time, and we've already kicked everyone.
