WiiU

Anybody heard anything about this?

Price? Release date? Games? Specs? Anything?

Tyler 11-27-2011 04:35 AM

I thought it was a console, but it just looks like a controller to me. I honestly wouldn't waist your time with it. Your better off getting an Xbox or PS3. I'd save your money. As for the price, I didn't find any results. I'm estimating it will range between 100-300 bucks.

Its actually an entirely new system.
The controller is just a main focus, since it has its own touch screen.

This system will have more power than current generation systems, and will be able to play any new game coming out.
Which is why a lot of gaming companies have already signed on to produce things like, Assassins Creed and Arkham City on the WiiU.

So, HD games that other consoles have plus Nintendo first party games?
I say **** yes.

Also @op:
Release date will be later next year.
Full details at E3 2012.

I'm meh about it, will wait until more info is released.

Obviously the controller is a marketing point just as the 3D in the 3DS.

There better be some kind of controller port to it. The Wii U's position of the controls makes me not want to play it at all. I hope its compatible with the Wii

Is this a surprise? Nintendo tried the whole "just give them power!" with the Gamecube and they got ****ed. Now they're too scared to go that route anymore and need to try to think outside the box to win people over. If more developers and players supported the Gamecube, Nintendo may have never gone down this road(or may have, Miyamoto is just that kind of person).

Unless they have a similar Wii Sports phenomenon to go with the new system it probably won't reach that same appeal that the Wii got.

If the price and software is just right however, I will probably buy one.

Find the demo video they showed at E3. The game prototypes and examples were pretty awesome, tbh.

Also, the live rendering demo they showed was really nice.

Word is the WiiU will only support two controllers at a time. Dunno if this has changed since that announcement, though.

At e3 the only demos they showed had 1 big controller and 4 wiimotes.

So, I think thats going go be the setup....one big controller and the rest normal wiimotes.

However, Nintendo had said its completely up to developers. So I guess if some stupid game developer decides his game requires 4 big controllers, no ones gonna play. lol

Rexx 11-30-2011 06:45 AM

that looks like an expensive controller...what happens when it breaks?

I hope the online is good, not all that 'friend code' crap.
