Its like giving an old cow that can't produce milk anymore to a child as a pet but then deciding that cow has some sort of value left in it and then slam the poor kid with a cease and desist.

I think it's more like a kid stealing an old cow because he thinks it's of little value anyway, and the original owner taking it back because it still belongs to them, no matter its worth.

What? Even when that cow is pretty much redundant now?

And everyone will still know that cow was once theirs.

Absolutly not profit will be gained or lost up until the company starts getting greedy and releases some retro-DLC or some garbage like that.

Lol, it's the Patriot Act all over again pretty much.

Only all the nerds will be up in arms against the eeeeevil corrupt corporations.

difference between that and this is that Microsoft tried something similar and lost in court.

and Microsoft isn't running around making **** up to scare people.

I'm not sure if this was brought up yet, but is anyone else having a problem with the cortana search bar? It says "search the web and windows" but when I click it, nothing happens. I click it like 5-10 times and something finally shows up. It works. But if I click settings or do anything other than search, it freezes up and I can't use it. Anyone else have that problem?

Cortana isn't available in Canada :(

New tools are coming out to shoot down invasive privacy-related junk, but I still wouldn't touch it for a while until Microsoft actually puts out decent updates and hacking teams crack the hell out of it.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem on my computer? I switched back to Windows 8.1 and I thought I disabled updating to Windows 10, but every single time I try to get my important and optional updates, it forces me to download Windows 10. I have to stop the download and can't get my updates because of this.

This is apparently a known problem people are having. I removed the taskbar search box, but my start menu search became unresponsive one time. Fixed itself after a restart. Have you disabled automatic Windows updates? You may need to check for updates manually because Microsoft seems to have addressed this issue already.

Tyler, I read online that you can disable and hide the update so that it does not automatically download and install. This update was a pre-load and uninstalling it should rid you of all related files.

Been loving 10. Have had absolutely no problems except for some odd thing with folder permissions, and it looks great tbh.
