Let's end this the way I should of said it in the first place:Leah said unknown won 2,I told her to announce unknown winner....that's all that should be said so Unknown won

Passing the buck? Take responsibility. Look how many people are ticked off by your actions? You think Leah is responsible for that? She was reletively helpfull in the matter.

Ezio when u played 4th round did u do best off 3 or best off 5

The graal police team should be divided into smaller parts. We will still have the police team, but they will have different jobs. Some will be in charge of events (chance, hide and seek, trivia, etc.) some will be in charge of monitoring towering and spar (making sure everything is going ok and replies to questions related to tower/spar, distributes tower hats, hosts GST) some could just be general Graal Police team (monitor reports, bans, laggers, hackers, feedback, etc) and then there could be a "head" of the team, which monitors the entire Graal Police team (Neo or Axel maybe.) This way each admin could undergo proper training, so when something like the GST comes up, the admins apart of the towering/sparring section of the team will be ready. These will be the ones who host the GST. That way we will know that the people hosting the GST have underwent training and are prepared, and not someone a part of the Events team hosting the GST. Then fewer disputes, such as Unknown vs Espiritu, won't happen as often, because we will have qualified admins apart of the spar/tower section hosting.

I agree. The role of a Graal Police is loosely defined and given way too many tasks. The application should help determine what sector an applicant would fall under based on their interests, hobbies, and reasons for applying. Social players should obviously be the ones answering questions and hosting events. There's really no harm in having someone unsheathed on top of a building as long as they're mature. People who love to tower and spar should be... monitoring towers and spar. Generally the least talkative players; they should know how to tackle any issues objectively and unbiased decisions without making too much of a scene (If he's lagging, he's lagging, no ifs, no buts).

I don't want to get too carried away here, I had a wall of text typed up earlier but I deleted it because I realize this isn't the thread for discussion. Regarding the GST, I wasn't actually there, but I'd like to congratulations to those who won! The best thing to do from this point is to move on. The whole purpose of mistakes is to learn from them, so we'll do exactly that next time ^^

So you're saying admins have valid reasoning for ignoring a PM about a question which is their job I am guessing, just based on the fact a player ignored your PM?
I ignore peoples PMs when they ask me stupid stuff and are annoying. Me asking a staff a valid question to do with the game seems really relevant. I even done it face to face in case they had too many PMs. I saw Poppy at spar arena I asked hew a question she walked away from me.

I didn't say that, which again brings up my suggestion about the graal police team being divided into sectors. Three to four years ago, admins were very social with players. We had NYN saying "Merry Chirstmas" to everyone in Graal City while riding a sled, admins giving hugs in Graal city, and even hosting guild events. I remember when I was in Magic, and Arichi hosted a guild event on her admin account. Paintball, I believe. It was loads of fun and she was actually able to socialize and play with us while she was on her admin account. I really miss this. I wish admins were more social with players like they used to be. I was watching Diz's and Arty's Graal wedding on YouTube (courtesy of Lia) and we had Flo as the priest on his admin account, a giant party, admins dragging people around, it was awesome. I'm not saying they should abuse their powers, but they should at least reply to a question.

Bringing up Poppy, what if she didn't see you? Did she have you blocked? This could be why she walked away from you. Also sometimes admins (such as Xor) are bombarded with PMs and at times have to clear their chat.

I do think they should do that too, honestly since I don't do anything in classic I would go as a "monitor" for towering but I guess that I could also go help with questions since anyway I kinda like answering question :3 Makes me happy to know that I helped someone out there :3

The thing I don't get it why was she hidden? It's a GST it's not Graal City where there's like 400 noobs with 30hrs say "OMFG ITS AN ADMIN" "PLZ CAN I HAVE ADMIN HUG" it's GST where people don't care about who's hosting they care about the event itself.

Admin's job is not to answer questions but to monitor the game itself. And it's because of them that the server his more playable mainly. Give them so respect.

GOAT 06-01-2014 11:42 PM

I understand people being mad about errors, but everyone should know that every GST has bad calls. No point in wasting energy raging, post your displeasure with whoever hosted and hopefully they will have the sense to learn from it.

note: im with mike, spiritu vs unknown had like 3 re-starts which probably added to the confusion.

another note: how the f did unknown make it that far? never seen so many noobs going beast mode.

I'm pretty sure it was Rufus that was updating it, so that's probably why it stopped.

Hey eevee, its been a long time!

Graphics Team/uploaders= Accepting/denying custom upload, creating graphics in PNG or GIF format for the game.

Levels Administration Team (LAT)= Creating Graal levels with utmost creativity, flowing smoothly, and foreseeing and preventing any over-world errors.

Player Relations Team (PR's)= More are found in era than classic, although the idea of Player Relations is to be the middle man between staff and players. (Sort of like the avatar, the bridge between the spirit world and the real world.)
They are the ones who are supposed to treat all players fairly and listen to complaints and answer questions and respond to feedback- and then take appropriate action.

Graal Police (GP's)= GP's come and go faster than any other position. They are supposed to respond to reports and player PM's, although this doesn't exactly pertain to their job, they shouldn't ignore players unless they are really busy. Graal police are also supposed to keep an eye on areas looking out for boosters, hackers, nude senders, the list goes on and on....

Coders/Developers= They don't need to listen to your problems. Only expect to talk to them if you are their friend, if you have supplied helpful information/criticism on something, or if you catch them when they are taking a break. They don't owe anyone.

Manager= Xor. Only try to contact him if you have very important evidence of staff abusing powers.

Heck i think there is a event team now, but thats self-explanatory. Haven't really been too active for awhile.

All in all, only a percentage of staff really signed up to deal with your problems, while only a percentage signed up to monitor the game, and while i'm at it- a percentage signed up to not help with player issues at all and they just wanted to create stuff for the game.

While all staff should do what it takes to make Graal a better game, we need to respect many of them did not sign up for a position in dealing with little kids whining about gst matches, (of course- these people should definitely not be reffing them ^_^)

I'm going to have to side with Yuri on this one. First off, nobody is perfect. The people who hire the graal police members do not find perfect people. Everybody makes mistakes and as Yuri said before, it is common for a GP to get confused when beginning to host a totally new match. You try to take their spot so you can see that it isn't easy. Now I don't want you to come back at me with insults or whatever, but you have to understand that what happened, happened.

i agree with u
if a core is laggy. warn their team and summon subs, remove the lagger.

what I personality want every GST hosts to do is to record ONLY gs arena. they r all on pc, they can do other important/private works outside of the recording box. I used screnflick to record 2hours straight in the viewing room and got a only 1gb file. the quality of the vid isn't great, but u can tell who's lagging.

Kouji 06-02-2014 02:19 AM

Stop posting about what the role of an admin is, this post is for GST complaints.

Narcosis 06-02-2014 04:24 AM

I was very satisfied. I entered the GST just to get a gift shop item and I succeeded. Plus my guild got a tiny bit of exposure for facing (and quickly losing to) Alumni in the first match of the first round of iDevice. So it's win/win for me.

Heya there

so one of the main complaints I have is the sub system and the "replacing".

I was 1ST , YEAH first sub in a team. My team was up, suddenly the second sub gets warped?
Oh...I pm staff and they say this was requested to warp the other sub..I am like wait what?
Why can you change the position of someone when the tournament already started?
You cannot change your squad whilst the World Cup started. This is the same..

It is my fault I joined that team, I know..still why the heck admins allow this?

Don't let 10 years old kids host a big tourney like this and get your things done before people like me complain about this.
I am only 15 and probably people will say you don't know anything, but I think in some points the staff team on this server(iClassic) needs some cleaning.

I don't need to play this game, but I remember the times when normal people got hired and not people who don't reply to my messages (other things) , or AFK for like the whole day.

I don't mind getting this post deleted but first let new Staff go thru some courses so they can learn how to summon some guys. (Read Felix's post)

you guys are bull****

Funniest post on here

I don't see why hosts who did not watch GST matches should get chosen again to host the GST next season. It should not be difficult to open a text document and jot down the score if you have trouble remembering the outcomes of some matches. Unless it's changed, hostig the GST was never mandatory for staff, so those who can't do the simplest part of their job should not be picked.

Agreed. I mean really, how difficult is it?
And they shouldnt even need a text document to record scores. Or is Xor really hiring incompetent children who cant count to 3?

Idea: why not add script to GSTs for the game to automatically record match scores? And the moderators are able to manually change score if a match is restarted due to lag etc. (only problem is, admins are still required to watch).
