Like a guild scrimmage fight, would be fun to have players once they die to spawn in an enclosed location so we could see the fair victor at the end and not deal with cheaters I have also always wanted to be able to add baddies into houses. Ones that don't count towards stats, of course |

Can we get a special piano/organ that shoots fireworks, based on the notes you press? that would be epic. thanks.

So this thread was bumped. Which is good, because there's a lot of things posted here that I would love to see, and given that it's been a couple months since this thread was last posted in, I would love to know if any of this is being worked on.
What I want most: Those "sardon spikes" as furniture (as was already pointed out) and warp points in houses; both as a tile you step on that would warp you to another tile, and also re-spawning somewhere specific on death. Dusty, you said it would be very hard to implement this given how the death system works. But how about an option to re-spawn to the starting spawn point of the house on death. I would be extremely happy with just this. Surely it couldn't be too difficult to have your character simply spawn at the default spawn location when you die inside said house. You'd just need to run the "enter house" script upon death, wouldn't you? Now, getting back to booby traps. Like I said, sardon's tower spikes would be great as furniture. But I would love to see more (so we can truly make some interesting obstacle courses). Some other ideas I have for booby trap-type furniture: - Pits (Essentially one small square-sized pit of darkness, the size of a standard chair. You could buy as many as you want. You fall in, you warp back to the start, or perhaps lose 1 heart. This could be an option. To get a visual idea: Think of the pits in LttP. It would be even cooler if you gave it a similar animation) - Fire (Similar to the torch furniture item in terms of appearance. Touching it would knock off half a heart and knock you back. You could make a maze entirely out of fire if you wanted to) - Conveyer belt (Not so much a "booby trap" item, but something that could be a lot of fun. Think the conveyer belts used in the sushi room of the last nexus. You could adjust the speed of the belt and rotate them in any direction. While on a belt, you'd still be able to run freely, but of course you'd be pushed in whichever direction the belt is moving. I figure the length of the belt would be about 4 standard chairs long, but you could purchase multiple belts and put them next to each other to increase the length. Note: On the full speed setting, running in the opposite direction of the way the belt is moving would essentially have you running in place) - Bumpers (Running into one would knock you back in the reverse direction. I'm also thinking these can work like pets in the sense that you can set them to randomly move around. I'm sort of thinking of the bumper enemies in LttP that would knock you back when you hit them with your sword, in an attempt to knock you into a pit) Since you guys have basically put an end to bomb glitching (that's right, I know), it's become harder to find creative ways to make obstacle courses or have certain spots that are intended to be difficult to reach. I think I speak for everyone when I say I would really, really like to see this kind of stuff introduced into the current furniture & housing system. Quote:
Since this type of thing already exists (on signs, like you mentioned), surely it would be possible to add to furniture items (or at least certain furniture items). But just to be clear, I would like the option to have the text only show up when touching the front of the furniture item. Example: Next to "Message on Touch", a little checkbox that says "Front Only" or something of the sort. And said checkbox would be unchecked by default. |

As for the rest, there is already a slew of quest-type furniture being developed. I can't say when it will be released(seriously, it will be a while), but I do know I'm excited to see what players will eventually build with it all! Respawning stuff however, will probably not happen. When I say "respawning is bugged and absolutely impossible to work with" I mean it. There is no difference between warping the player to a specified spot or the entrance to the house... moving the player at all while they are dead just breaks everything. You could have seen it in action back when I made it so the bandit treasure room warped you when you died(because players were getting stuck). It took a lot of hacking together to get it to respawn the players outside of the maze and even then it was never working properly with players with low AP. Quote:

Oh and this "quest-type furniture" sounds really interesting. Looking forward to it! Quote:

Is it possible to make some kind of pressure plates that move or remove some other specific block. Not sure how to explain it, but its similar to the way mine craft pressure plates work. If someone is on the pressure plates some kind of block would disapear or move, but if no one is on it the block stays there unable to be pushed or pulled. It would be fun to see how players help each other on these plates.

Either that or Christmas Presents. |
I would love it if you guys could sell apples again (both green and red). I always wanted to make apple trees, but couldn't because the layer system wasn't in the game at the time (and the apples didn't appear on top of trees). I know it's not new furniture. But, well, yeah.

I have some furniture-related ideas/suggestions I figured I'd post in this thread.
- It would be nice if we could rotate the hat display furniture item. Certain hats have very different looks from the side or from behind. In fact, I have an old st. Patricks day hat that has no front image. We can rotate statues, so I don't think being able to rotate hat displays is too over the top. - Allow us to turn the brightness down to zero on the light switch furniture item (which currently doesn't let us go below 20), so it'd be pitch black, and visitors would need to use their lantern to see anything (much like the cave with the entrance to snowtown). This could make for some fun ideas (especially with Halloween nearby). - On the map, there are certain spots where railway tracks are "above ground", and you can actually walk under them. It would be awesome if we could do this sort of thing in our houses. For example, I wanted to have a track connecting 2 cliffs in my GH. I put the tracks on layer 2 so the player would walk under them, which does work. But unfortunately using a draisine on layer 2 or 3 tracks doesn't look right at all. Also, you're able to use the tracks from underneath, thus defeating the purpose of it being "above the lower ground". To put it simply, I would love it if putting draisine tracks on higher layers worked the way it does outside of houses, so if a track is on layer 2 or 3, you wouldn't be able to initiate your draisine on that track, and when riding on said tracks, your character wouldn't appear to be "under" the track (which is the way it currently looks). Adding a shadow to make it clear that the track is in the air would also be great, but might be asking too much. |
