Ive been cyberbullied, bullied, etc and I've always cut myself. Heck even my teachers are sometimes frisking bias and it makes me cut. But i stopped because i don't wanna die, i just want to hurt myself a lil. But thats the past, I'm still seeing this dark and evil but I'm not depressed anymore. Im not depressed because idgaf what anyone says about me, thats their problem not mine. I choose what I want to make out of myself.

I was only talking about their disregard for other's lives, not their motivation. That was the whole point of the analogy lol. I guess you missed it. Also, suicide has been a major part of my families life for the past five years. Just saying.

Ah, I see what you mean now. Guess it all comes down to a matter of how much you care about others.

Suicide is a terrible thing, everyone has to agree on that...

Even if you get bullied, you get picked on...that dosent mean you kill yourself, i think, your life is to great just to be "tossed away" in a figure of speech...

Ive never had suicidal thoughts, I've never been bullied either...but I've had people try to bully me and say stuff about me :/ just have 'thick skin' dont let any word bother you at all...Just look at what they said to you..(this is what i do alot of times)...and i just laugh about there comment, like for example...tons of people on Graal call me 'noob' 'nub' on Graal when i kill them, not that these words bother me at all...i just think "expand your vocabulary, its sad you try to insult me and not even have a good insult"

what i mean to say is...dont let anyone get to you, never ever ever...just stand up, (straight), look 'em in the eye, dont say a word, dont back down from them

I hope people start realizing that bullying is not the only reason you can have to want to end your life. Some people just have to deal with a lot of ****, and it can be too much for them to handle. Holding your head up isn't as easy as it sounds.

Well that but, it more about, not being in the proper state of mind mentally to think rationally due to an illness. The point i think your missing is that its a mental illness, treatment and family support is what is needed.

What Zigzag brings up is important too, when someone in your family is mentally ill, everything you say that is rational and motivational will not immediately take effect because in they cannot think rationally. But if you keep reaching out, keep grinding, get them therapy, eventually, they'll realize.

I had experienced this for 5 years with a sibling of mine. A month ago it finally started coming together. Medication/Treatment and Family support i cant stress that enough. Seeing Pimpsy's story its in there too, support is so important.

Just read some more of your posts Pimpsy, its so strange how similar our situations were. im just hoping it doesnt snap again.

Practically everybody here has attempted suicide....

Thinking and attempting are two different things entirely. That is probably the worst statement I have seen on these forums tbh.

What would you say about Hitler and suicide? I'm serious with this one.

Was gonna die either way, guess it was unfortunate he couldn't be captured. At this point in time it truly doesn't matter much.

I never got why people would kill themselves.

So if you die, you obviously don't give a ****. Like, about anyone. 'cause if there is anyone who loves you, you don't give a **** about them, or hurting them, and if there's not, there's no one to give a **** about.

So instead of killing yourself why don't you just get the **** out? Leave the basement, leave your house, leave the mother ****ing country. Go on an adventure. Spend your time doing something awesome, like tracking down some terrorists. Go be James Bond. Go **** up a shark with a harpoon. Danger? **** that, you were going up against 100% death rate before, you're being safe now. **** everything, the world is your oyster.

Sometimes I wish I was suicidal. I'd pull the barrel out of my mouth and point it in the air, start a revolution, LIVE. Move to Barcelona or Rome or Berlin, hit the bars, band some chicks. STD's who ****ing gives a ****?

And then when I'm done, maybe I wouldn't want to kill myself, 'cause I've seen how beautiful the world really is...

haha i remember reading that somewhere

Suicidal thoughts are weird, it just kind of sends you into a downwards spiral. You don't really take your 'loved ones' into account (a lot of time they can be the ones causing it) just feel like you don't matter to anyone and that no one will really care if you're gone. So you think it's best to end the pain there and then. It's not worth killing yourself though, at that age especially, you haven't really experienced life as a whole and you can't make that sort of judgement on life if you've merely seen the tip of the iceberg.
The only time i'll ever support suicide is for terminally ill people who would rather end their suffering. Even then, there's actual centres for that kind of suicide.

So true.
I don't know but wouldn't bad suffers of a terminal illness have the option to end their suffering?
I know (sadly) Ace Ciprioni has a terminal illness.

Pazx 07-24-2013 01:45 PM

Euthanasia is very expensive and only offered in a few countries.

I think there is a whole debate on whether or not a doctor can end a patient's life.

I'm not comparing one to another at all. That has nothing to do with what I was saying. I was just stating that I have lots of experience with the situation since I was on the receiving end. The discussion that we had was about the impacts of suicide. I thought that was straightforward, oh well. I have also had suicidal thoughts and went through a long period of depression that lasted a year, if you were curious, though.

He tied a noose around his neck and was on a ladder. I stopped him from kicking the ladder away and untied the noose. I think I answered the rest of your questions in my other responses.

What I understood about your posts was that people that attempted suicide were selfish and didn’t care about how it affected the people around them. Then you said that people that were suicidal had mental problems and didn’t think rationally. So when people are not thinking rationally how can they be acting selfishly.

Do you think it would have gotten to this point if your brothers family had noticed that he was sick and did something to intervene. Imo the blame can also be given to the family that failed to realize something was wrong with the person attempting suicide.

Im not going to speak for Pimpsy but you have to realize that mental illness is not something that is easily detectable when you have no experience in that field. Even today it is very difficult to properly diagnose. As a family member when you see someone depressed or acting irrationally, the immediate reaction isn't, "oh she/he probably mentally ill". You try to reason with them rationally but they don't get it. This is where i think i see where Pimpsy is coming from on the selfish point.

Initially, they seem very selfish because they don't realize that their behavior is really negatively effecting the family as a whole. But when the mentality changes from them being selfish to them being mentally ill, thats when you as a family start to realize. They are acting selfish, but its because they are sick.

Goat because you have never experienced this before, i understand where you're coming from and why you can't understand what Pimpsy is saying. Just remember, you cant blame the family because honestly, they have no experience dealing with mental illness. It took 5 years for my family, and let me tell you, those 5 years were the most painful five years.

Also, everyone will experience depression at some point in their lives. But there are many levels and figuring out which level it is accurately is not an easy task.

thanks for standing up to suicidle people to that girl who replied to my message in a pretty stupid assumption.

I think that Switzerland is one of the few countries in Europe that allows it.

But the point is that it is very rare for it to be allowed.
