Good to see someone shares the same opinion as me.

I just finished all 25 episodes(1 am now, gonna get ~4 hours of sleep, totally worth)

I find it to be the greatest work of science fiction I've ever seen. Also my favorite anime. I do think the last 10 episodes or so don't feel as immersive, though. But it's certainly better than them just ending it. The first 13 were absolutely amazing, the next 12 were great.

Can not wait to see your reaction to cowboy bebop then. You know the greatest anime of all time

just finished 21 of Sakurasou, that was mother****ing incredible. even sorata had a chance to shine, though he's still an idiot

Sakurasou spoiler & my commentary:

Spoiler
Episode 21: oh my god, the scene with Nanami in the rain is what I've been waiting for the whole ****ing series and it was made so wonderfully. her voice acting (from the actual actor, not her character's acting) really got to me. Sorata finally manned the **** up and did what he needed to do through the whole latter half of the damn series, but he still needed help from Ryuunosuke which was awful on his part. But holy ****, that scene was a real tearjerker, it was so emotional for me that I can't believe there are still 5 episodes I have to watch after that incredible scene, as well as the ending scene in that episode where Mashiro gets offered a position and walks away to protect Sakurasou. The series is really beginning to shine its true colors for me and I ****ing love it. I'm seriously going to miss the series, especially the characters - mostly Nanami; she really spoke to me as a whole and had such a strong backstory and character which was really well made imo. A lot of her focus scenes were god damn wonderful as well, like when she cries after her voice audition after being exhausted to death, her exhaustion at her jobs, finding Sorata hugging Mashiro at a fountain on their date (holy **** what an asshole), her realization of her feelings for Sorata / how she wants to express them, the hug on the bicycle indirectly confessing her love, and that ****ing rain scene. May even go as far as to saying she might be my favorite character in any anime I've seen so far, her character is wonderful and I ****ing love her. Really hoping she'll seriously confess and Sorata won't be an oblivious derp like he usually is...

Overall, really loving how the series is turning out.

haven't read anything since I last posted and that's all I'll be on this thread until I finish cause you guys are derp at spoiler tagging

The scenes I cried at the most is when sorata yells at mashiro, and she ends up showing feelings.

I watched this really strange anime.
"Noucome", or "My Mental Choices are Completely Interfering with my School Romantic Comedy". Lots of panty and boobs (if you can bear it, it isn't bad, trust me, you'll laugh eventually at it). But it's too damn funny sometimes, the main character is so abused. I don't wanna spoil it, but you could be disappointed with the ending..or not.
It kinda sets up for a sequel season. It's 10 episodes. Not bad for what it is.

****ing loved this.

Too bad there's no new episodes ;.;

If you liked this then you should also check out Watamote.

say wha!?!
The 2 aren't similar!

Watamote is awesome, but in a COMPLETELY different way! I can't watch too much of it without breaks because of how painful it is.

Episode 11 is coming with the DVD next month, not to mention the manga is still in production, I highly doubt we've seen the last of this series.

OVA confirmed in May I guess?
Not sure.

It's open..so...
They'll probably give it a 2nd season, with 3 ending episodes(if you understand what I mean..)

It was left completely open.

I'm sure they wouldn't let us hanging, making our own conclusions.

Seriously.

Oh yeah. Sweet.

Talon 02-20-2014 06:47 AM

still haven't read anything anyone's said since last I posted, but I'm on 23 now and this series is really getting sweet and is definitely the shining point of the series. going to go ahead and already say that this was by far my favorite slice of life / drama to date, and easily up there with favorites of all time. such a touching story with incredible characters. there didn't really seem to be an established full plot line, but all of the subplots and backstories behind the characters were absolutely brilliant, especially in regards to nanami and mashiro.

Spoiler
Nanami really is an incredible character, she has faced so much anguish throughout the series from leaving her parents to chase her dream, putting up with multiple jobs + school and voice acting and the physical/emotional backlash behind it all, her unconfessed feelings for Sorata, suppressing her jealousy towards Sorata and Mashiro's relationship - and to take it all in stride and still be the absolute sweetest character towards Mashiro (episode 22 (?) train station scene) is just heartbreaking when you realize all of her work over the last two years was for nothing as she has to go back to her disapproving parents in Osaka. it really pulls at my heartstrings (didn't I say that last time oh well it's so true)

edit just finished 23
Spoiler
i was not ****ing ready for that emotional assault during the speech holy damn im crying. serious serious serious feels right there

Talon 02-20-2014 07:54 AM

Okay, I'm finished, I can finally read this thread again woo

Spoiler
The ending wasn't as spectacularly touching as the previous episode, but it did what it needed to do really well. I'm really glad things turned out well, a bittersweet ending with none of the characters returning really wouldn't have fit the series imo. I still prefer Nanami over Mashiro any day and every day, but the train station scene was done extremely well by her actor and character, and equally as well by Sorata. The ending episode was very nice too, had a fantastic lighthearted and feel-good touch to it that you just have to smile at. Nanami and Misaki's return to Sakurasou was great, too. I really love how the series makes you feel almost as if you're part of the family; maybe that's why the speech hit me so hard. Anyway, loved it. Every bit of it. All of the characters, especially Nanami and even Sorata's oblivious ass.

All in all, this is a really well done drama in my opinion. Nothing felt blatantly forced or plot device'd, the pacing is fantastic, all of the characters are unique and charming in their own way (except for ****ing Sorata), the drama elements were well executed and it did a really solid job at hitting me emotionally. I feel this is a really well polished series and easily one of my favorites of all-time. Absolutely loved it.
