Right? As if when you ban guns, the 310m+ in circulation will disappear... No, it will just prevent responsible, law-abiding citizens from getting them and defending themselves against the people who will still get them even when they're "banned."

Just because guns are illegal, doesn't mean they can't get them. All it will mean is that no one else will have guns to protect themselves.

the statistic was obviously my own assumption. only reference i can make it, drinking and driving thing. they higher the age to 21 and accident rate have gone down.
guns become illegal and government takes all the guns = less gun violence, but yeah it can't stop completely and that's not what i am saying.
unless it's like korea and japan where possessing a gun can get you lifetime in jail, extremely rare condition to find a gun. <-but in these countries, there are random street knife murders. they kill about ~3 and it's on news everyday

The government cannot just "take all the guns." That's a stupid thing to even suggest. Maybe it's almost possible in a tiny, little European country, but not the United States.

if it becomes illegal = why not? i know it's impossible, but at least if they tried, they can collect millions of legally registered guns.

IMO, as long as you're mentally healthy, have a license, and know how to actually use a gun, you should be able to have one.

teacher rapes students in hs, middle school, after school activities.
it's just gonna make it worse.
