No good way to remove said advantage. You can't just stop people from sparring altogether because of that, it's just inherent. It's been here for 15+ years and I don't think it'll change soon. The ping fluctuation detection is a good idea but like Crono and Thallen said the server isn't stable enough to handle it. That would be the most optimal solution to the problems we see instead out outright stopping delayers from sparring.

Seems to be 2 different conversations going on - one where people want to prevent everyone with a high ping from sparring and then another where people want to prevent people with an unstable ping from sparring

The first isn't reasonable for obvious reasons, the second is but it is 99% never going to happen

i don't see how anyone could pull off winning spars while warping all over the place. my wi-fi is terrible and i just attempted to spar with it yesterday and got destroyed by noobs. like 20% of my swings actually register on the server due to my constant lag spikes and 100% of my enemy's swings register. i have to hit someone five times before it finally damages them. how do i improve to become a professional lagger???
