I'm slightly confused. How do you find maps? Do you just kill baddies/loot/dig and hope to get lucky? Are they rare?

Personally, I killed pyrats, i got 3 of them pretty quickly, but I couldn't get a 4th for about 10minutes. I went to the Bandits in the railroad caves and killed them there. I got around 6 maps there in 10-15 minutes (I got very lucky though, at one point I got back to back drops).

I tried digging around the gmap for about 10 minutes and also got nothing.
Same with looting, spent around 10 minutes and got nothing.

I'm having a problem. I'm sure of the location that the map is showing me, but I've been digging and I can't find the chest.

Make sure you're digging on the grass so that the little patch of dirt shows up.

I am. Two other people have been having this problem.

What are the rewards like so far? Are these worth the time?
