That can, and often is, avoided. Again, if the filter is there, how is it GraalOnline's fault for the child turning it off? Yes, Graal is a game apparently catered towards children, but it's been shown time and time again that the filter they currently uses accomplishes none of what you're saying it does.

True. iGraal would be supporting the filter but what players are gonna make out of it isn't their fault.

Although I have no issue with players and people being homosexual, the reason the word gay is banned isn't because the management dislikes homosexuality, but because players would use this word in an unkind, insulting way if it wasn't filtered. Believe me, it's better being filtered than not.

How is it GraalOnline's fault? Because they made an option to turn it off, duh. But i completely see your point, the word filter doesn't work 100% of the time so we should just allow them to see the words anyway... Great logic

If I had an option in my game to disable or enable censorship, and a parent wrote in and complained to me that their child was exposed to foul language, I'd say, "Ma'am, the game has a censorship option that is enabled by default. If your child was exposed to any sort of foul language, chances are he/she disabled that censor." Because yes, it is their fault. They had a choice, and they chose to disable the censor. Their. Fault.

Obviously i'm not saying they didn't turn off the filter themselves, i just don't see the point of making it an option, the current filter is fine...

It's not fine. You can get around it and it censors parts of words that aren't even intended to be used inappropriately. Have you read the rest of this thread?

Ok... getting around a filter is always possible, regardless of if you can turn it off or not.

This is a prime example of you missing the point. If the filter is optional, then people won't need to get around it. Assuring more accurate censoring for those that desire it, without the hassle and annoyance for those that don't.

Exactly, but it's easier to turn it off so we don't have to waste time getting around phrases that shouldn't be blocked.

Theres nothing in what i said that you can explain to me xD i understand completely what you guys are saying, all your doing is repeating it. I expressed sone plausible down sides to it, that's it. If they add it then cool, a new feature that can be helpful, i'm just saying if anyone can shut it off then that means anyone can be open to rude language, including young children.

Right, and if they shut it off it's their fault. Simple.

Yep, we shall thrust all the blame upon the 9 year old. Simple.

If they want to turn it off, they should be made aware of what they're doing. Personally I think the age rating on the App Store should be raised from 4+.

it means happy but people definatly use it as a very offencive way

Or I dunno, the people responsible for the 9 year-olds(hint, it's not game developers).
