That's enough bumping this thread

I literally had a dream about this the other day IRL lol. Was literally working on a thread about the exact same thing. o-o
I would LOVE there to be a collectible aspect to these cards too. Maybe they can sell holiday packs. Certain cards could have animations and "holographic" effects. I would be so stoked about this its not even funny I want to be able to display my cards in a virtual binder, which I can keep in my inventory and display in my house. When other people are in my house they can look at the cards in my binder on display :) **edit** I just sent this message to Dusty but I'm curious what you guys think Hey Dusty, I totally agree with your idea that cards should be mostly cosmetic and fun. I don't understand why people want to turn this into a complex game. Maybe a game could accompany it, but it does not have to be super complicated. Cosmetic and tradable cards fit with the existing spirit of the game and gives the upper Graal echelon something else to sell. Rare "holographic" cards could be given away for events and holidays, just like hats and furniture. It would be fun to display our cards in a virtual binder that we can show to friends It would also be super neat if we could place the binder in our house for others to view. Sorry to bother, but this is something I feel pretty passionately about haha. Cosmetic, fun cards would be a great addition to Graal for many reasons. **In Summary** * Collectable cards with pretty digital holofoil * Card packs and cards can be sold on holidays and given away for events * You store your cards in a binder, which can be shown to friends and displayed in your house * Cards would focus more on collectability rather than balancing a game, but I guess a game could be fun * Card examples: Holofoil valentines slime, Bernard at Christmas, etc |

I like this digital holofolder idea. Its a direction towards collecting/cosmetics, since this game is mainly about showing off what you got. I always like looking at nice/cool images. Plus, we got so many things to place these cards around the map and actions, such as rps, digging, swimming, events, quests, etc. I don't mind a little competition in this card collection idea, just as long as we somehow figure out some ways to make it fair for everyone, not having any advantage whats so ever against someone new. |
I love the idea of a classic-themed card game, that looks like fun.
My only problem would be how you decide to word the descriptions. Right now they feel awkward and could probably be simplified or worded a little better, I had to read over a few of them a couple times to actually understand the function of the card. |

I think descriptions and designs can be easily fixed over time, with the help of classic's awesome community. I think we can just use a simple add and subtract type of game, they used to have one in Maplestory in-game (a very simple luck-based card game). The only thing we would only change is the design and shinyness. So basically two cards can have the same attack and defense, but the only difference is the design or description of the card (description has no effects just for funny or interesting sentence to put). If we keep the attack and defense of cards the same for newer cards, the game can be fair for new players. Heck we can even go as simple as a memory game. |
wanted to make a card but couldn't find the graal font.. so here's a little clow card:

I think making collectible cards purely for cosmetics would actually be pretty cool. Obviously this probably wouldn't find its way onto Classic but maybe we could try something out on the forums first and see how that goes.

Reminds me of baseball cards. Not much of a use, but it's fun to collect anyways.
|
This could make a fun minigame in Classic!

Good luck making it balanced.

Someone make a card of me and my lemon character. +op stats

I really think cosmetic collectible, tradable cards could be HUGE for this game. Fun holofoil coupled with interesting and varied packs would be so fun. Also, holiday cards/packs would be very exciting :)
Does anyone else agree? I wish more people were excited about this so it could possible be implemented. |

The manual of the Graal TCG in GtA.
A Guide to the Card Game To play a game with another player you need to fire the Play weapon infront of eachother to get prompted. There are 2 game mode options: 1. Fair Deck (both players have the same cards), and 2. Custom Deck (each player uses the cards they have obtained and added to their deck). You can also do this to watch a game between two other players. If you chat in game you can press the grey bubble button to see it. All players start out with 20 HP and 4 MP, and 5 cards in their hand. The game board is a 3x3 grid, so there are 9 slots to play cards in. On your turn, you will play a card from your hand into an empty slot on the game board by clicking a card in your group and dragging and dropping. Your MP will decrease based on the level of the card you played (new mp = current mp - card level), though you will gain 1 MP each turn. When your card touches an opponent's card, the touching numbers will be compared. Whomever's card has the lower number will lose HP according to the difference in the numbers. If the numbers are the same, then no damage is done to either side. This is how 'battles' work and how damage is done. You win games by either lowering an opponent's HP to 0, or by forcing your opponent to run out of cards to play (no cards in hand or deck.). Played cards only stay on the board for 6 total turns (your turns + opponents turns). You can hold your mouse over the cards on the grid to see who owns the card and when it was played. You can also click the card count icon within the corresponding stat box to your player to view/hide a display of your remaining deck cards. During a game, you might find that you either: 1. can't play any cards (MP shortage), or 2. would prefer not to play a card (e.g., leaving a 1 open to attack). In these cases, you can skip your turn, by hitting the green arrow on the bottom right, at a cost of 2 HP. Also, you can quit a game entirely by clicking the 'Quit' button, your opponent can either agree to quit, or you can click again to forfeit. Have fun playing! Deck Management and Trading To trade cards with another player you need to fire the Trade weapon infront of eachother to get prompted, only cards of matching level can be traded. To move cards in and out of your battle deck, open Deck Manager. Here you can drag and drop cards in order to move them. Decks must contain a minimum of 20 cards, and a maximum of 60 cards. It is also important to consider MP usage from high level cards. Right clicking the left and right arrows within Trade and Deck Manager can be used to scroll through cards quicker. Point Obtaining Each valid win shall award the winner 1 Card Point. Fair Deck battles are limited to 10 wins against the same opponent per 24 hours, whereas Custom Deck battles are limited to 3 wins against the same opponent per 24 hours. These Card Points can then be exchanged for Booster Packs at the Card House. Each Booster Pack contains 5 cards. The higher the Booster Pack level, the higher the total levels of the cards Now I never played the card game, but I do know that you can obtain certain cards by finding them in certain spots around Graal. |
