long cave dungeon before final battle against ambiguous "elite 4"
battle your rival after them
shoehorn in awkward online functions that are unused due to overt complexity and overall ****tyness

why can't they end the game with a pokemon tournament in a stadium with you facing against characters you have met along your adventure, similar to the anime? If you HAVE to have the evil organization, then have em bust into the tournament mid battle and you fight them there or something.

Light is probably the only type that I can see fitting in with the meta game. But fairy? Come now...

I doubt they'll be adding any new types. The game was already balanced around the 17 types we have, randomly throwing in even one new type could completely destroy the viability of certain Pokemon and screw up the meta.

Wrong. You could add a type which is mainly for double battles which provides support best, or a type which is meant for breeding whihc it can breed with any pokemon to determine things such as stats or personalities. In battle, they could just be weak to all types, or have every type do normal damage to it, no supereffective and no weak moves.
