I'm currently in 3rd year (last here) majoring chemistry.

I've always been into science, I found the other classes to be boring. Biology is mostly about knowing everything by heart and pure mathematics is deadly. So I decided to take a double major in physics/chemistry. Physics has too much abstract mathematics and it was 36 credits so I dropped physics and switched to a major/minor in chemistry. Regardless of how I ended up with chemistry, I find every single branch that I had so far to be extremely interesting. And next year I will start my Master degree in chemistry specialized in either chemical engineering or molecular chemistry.

I'm curious to know if anyone on graal is majoring in physics tho!

Currently very indecisive. Medicine and law are the two prospects that have been in my head but there are serious drawbacks to both.

Not singling you or anyone out I just wanna use this as a general example

I think one of the few things I envy about America is in education/when you're young, everyone is so optimistic, youre told you can be president/doctor/lawyer and you keep these things in mind

Here in the UK, its quite the opposite imo. We're very pessimistic about things like that, you won't find a Brit making a decision between doctor and lawyer, they may have passion for one or the other, but it will never be 'Gee I wonder what I should go for, medicine or law?'

Whatever level of education you're in, I'd like some incite on what you're majoring in or what do you plan on studying. I'm currently majoring in Computer Information Systems and interested in Accounting, Business Administration, Criminal Justice and Psychology. As you can see, I have a variety of fields I'm interested in and when I transfer to a 4-year I will choose of them to double major in. I will eventually try to get a Masters in CIS and a Bachelors in the other field of my choosing. With that said, I'd like to know what's yours. Thank you if you contribute.

Note: Please provide a brief summary of your major and why you chose it.

ISS and Cyber Security.

I like computers

I know some people like that over here as well. I've just been lucky to be pretty gifted academically up to this point, and *fingers crossed* if it continues through my undergrad then I'll have the option to choose. I'm hoping a passion for something develops at the moment but currently I don't feel any true calling for myself.

I did some coding a while back in C for robotics but I didn't really enjoy it too much. There's a chance I may try it again but idk I don't think it was for me.

Thanks for the advice! I don't know, I get really inspired when I listen to people play the piano but I'm honestly not that good. I'm bad at composition, since there are way too many rules that I always manage to break (I barely passed intermediate harmony). I just enjoy playing the piano when it sounds good and I get that satisfaction...might I also add that I have only played classical music up to this point, pop music rhythms confuse the heck out of me. Also my harmony teacher specifically told me not to go into music since there's barely a career path for it. I'm really confused on what I want to do honestly I don't even know what I want at this point.

That's the great thing about composition (if you get through the ****ty harmony) - when you know the rules you can just have fun breaking them all! Your harmony teacher sounds like a boring and lousy teacher (but then again, most of them are rly boring), there are loads of job opportunities if you know where to look. However, music can also be a really nice hobby and I think the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy music.

Thanks so much!! And yeah she's super boring... I think I'll look more into it now :D

I want to do something with art, but have no idea yet. However, I'm pretty sure that it would be my minor. As for my major, i want to do something with business/math. I'm thinking accounting, but I'm still looking.

Update: I've decided to switch my major to Criminal Justice and minor in Psychology. I hope to work my way up the department to become a detective

Mangsi 03-03-2016 11:27 PM

I plan to study psychology. Specifically pediatric psychology. I'm only in 8th grade right now though so that could change.
