Bat are in cave (we can't catch them) spider are for halloween because they are "rare bugs".
But if u want to make the night u can but its unnecessary

It isnt unnecessary it only makes more sense, and I used to see spiders even outside of halloween and bats also roam the night.

Actually spiders weren't just for Halloween originally, I believe. Not sure about it, but I remember some friends catching them in the onnet forest because they were worth a lot
