Seeing how John has posted what people report, you guys need to buckle down on these unneeded reports.
1. They're getting in the way of the real reports
2. Make a punishment for false reports, where they can't use it for an amount of time? Or something else, not sure.

Ya I know numerous people use the report system when unneeded, so I don't know how you'd get to solve that problem.

For the racism - no matter where you go it's always there. Because of the false reports, I'm sure staff won't be able to get to the racist person on time, letting them get away with it. People always find a way to avoid the swear filter, which means if people keep limiting it, it will just turn into phrased chat. Someone had already said that, can't remember who/where, but I agree.

For now Im liking a complete block of chat and messaging if needed.

I also like the idea of a crime history on an individual. So that admins who deal a punishment don't have to do it based on their firsthand experience with them.

I'm all for a harsh punishment. An example should be made and a message sent out. A one week ban is something that can be tried.

Back when I was staff (not that long ago really but they might have changed it since then) three warnings resulted in an auto-jail. So whenever staff encounter a problem, they'd warn them. If this player was warned twice before, even by other staff, they'd end up in jail. So in a way it's a type of crime history. I also hazily remember being able to see what this player has been warned and jailed for previously. So there may already be a criminal history system in place.

You're all advocating solutions that either put intense amount of pressure on staff or censor the player. Look if I call someone a racist name and am censored and banned for it I will come to resent the game and quit. I'm close to saying forget it. Unless the iEra administration wants to hire denizens of PR's to combat racism then there's no way this will go away. You can't defeat a problem without killing its source.

2. Completely disagree. What you're suggesting will destroy the staff team. To deliver punishment on everyone who sent in a useless report will be a tedious and time consuming task.

It's a trend I sadly notice with PR/GP. They're never there when you need them. Always hosting events and never moderating the game. The fact this happens is sad.

But who knows? Maybe I'm being ignorant and they really are doing something. I'm not an admin so I wouldn't know.

I'm sorry, but I heard that if anyone were to abuse the report system they would be dealt with. I can't remember if it was an in-game broadcast, or on the forums.


This would answer to you iHot. I already knew it would be a time wasting task, that's why I said I wouldn't know how they could solve that issue, without making a big fuss about who to punish.

I think it is up to the player whether they block someone. If it comes down to blocking what you see them type I'm all for it. It's on many MMOs for a reason Era wouldn't be a first to do it.

Thanks for bringing up the block system. The block system is the answer to all our problems. Era should encourage people to use the block system.

I'm sorry for not reading your whole post. It is a time consuming task and feel there may be a different way to deal with the report systems abuse.

Guess I should've took a picture, unless I'm imagining it. Anyways, I agree with the block system, would be useful in my opinion.
