Same as me, always use the ergo grip, amazing attachment but most people don't use it due to its vague description. It increases hip fire and accuracy whilst ads and moving by 50% but the description makes you think just hipfire. If you're good at recoil control you don't need any barrel attachment besides the muzzle break, silencer if it's a small map since the 300m/s bullet velocity won't make a difference.
Best way to use the aek is to go no barrel and angled forgrip with a reddot. Ik i just said use ergo but just not for famas or aek since their firstshot recoil is to high

M416 probably go muzzle break, ergo and reddot, no rail unless you have the tac light.
Aug is also another good gun since it has a 600m/s bullet velocity and better moving whilst ads accuracy than other guns since it's bullpup

If you're just looking for a good class overall just to do well then go
Support
Ammo box
C4
Ak5c- flash hider, coyote, tac light, ergo/vertical grip. Amazing gun, almost no recoil, extremely good accuracy, good at all ranges, fast reload one of the best guns in the game
Desert eagle if you have it- reddot sight, nothing else since the iron sights don't always work, amazing gun for long range, I can take on snipers with it as long as they aren't on the otherside of the map.
If you don't have the deagle then just go the m9.
Defensive perk

Haven't even been training my pistols :(

So I'm assuming laser sight is a bad idea on these guns? Interesting... I think I need to revise my load outs :P

Speaking as a primary recon class, versatile sniper, hence my gamertag "sniper hearty" I would say that the SRR is a situation specific weapon.

I do a similar loadout except with the silenced JNG, not the best sniper, I was just using it to unlock all the attachments but I found this gun in particular very good with a silencer on it compared to other snipers with the exception of the CS5.
I'd swap the MAV for the SUAV since the suav also has a proximity scanner on it when you fly over people, and you can roadkill with it which is really helpful if you're being pinned down by snipers, and you can prone behind a rock, throw out the suav, quickly spot the snipers and roadkill one of them. I recently found that suavs regen every 30 secs after throwing them which is cool since I originally thought it was one per life and never bothered checking after i'd threw it.

Just use the first pistol then, it's basically the same as the m9 just m9 looks cooler. And yea lasers are a bad idea on guns since you just instantly stand out, I only ever used them in bf3 because I liked occasionally being able to see them on my gun since I'm the kind of person that uses whatever looks cool over whats good, but in bf4 the tac light is one of the only attachments you see on almost all of your guns unless you're using the m16- which you can see everything on

I see, time to get some battle packs.

I'm Jumping between the M416 and AEK971, kinda looking forward to unlocking the M16 since I've heard good things about it. The only thing I dislike about Battlefield 4 is the lack of items to support my tactic of basically running and gunning except I scope in with an RDS quickly to fire. My issue is none of the items support accuracy for it. Anyone got a good load out for it?

Use a Bullpup gun, ERGO, HBAR and Laser Sight. I reccomend the F2000 or Bulldog

Bullpups have a better moving accuracy than standered guns, HBAR sounds odd but it decreases your spread increase per shot and how bullpups have worse accuracy stationary, you gonna need the help, laser sight cause duh better hip fire, along with the ergo.

I can't not look down my scope when firing, I just suck super bad at shooting from the hip. I see Bullpup get a lot of use on hardcore mode where more bullets = more death potential! So I guess I echo that sentiment!

Thats because SAR21 master race for hardcore mode. That gun just wrecks people in hardcore cause of that accuracy.

Yo, the big patch is out and has been for a few days now. It's an excellent patch. If you haven't read the patch notes, get on battlelog and then go test out the goods in game. Rush is legitimately fun now.

Ryan 10-06-2014 12:12 PM

bless the new patch

Ghettoicedtea 10-06-2014 01:12 PM

wait the games ready for launch now?

What did this main patch do besides netcode fixes

find the patch notes on battlelog. There's a bunch of stuff, it's worth reading the patch notes to see what they fixed.

I tried the other day, but so many miniscule things to read and I still couldn't interpret how it would affect gameplay without actually spending a long time playing. I was just wondering how you guys feel it affects the game majorly enough to call it "finally playable".

You're not playing a new game or anything, but all of these little tweeks come together and make the game a lot more enjoyable.

-General weapon tweaks: Reduced suppression recoils. Removed recoil modifier for zoom. Made a 75% reduction in hip recoil.
-Visual Recoil: Close range sights (except iron sights, IRNV and FLIR) and all Medium range sights have been changed to no longer be affected by animation AKA Visual Recoil. The removed random effect has nothing to do with real weapon recoil and doesn’t affect it.
-Crosshairs/Optics scale tweaked and visibility against light backgrounds improved.
-Reduced head flinching on soldiers.
-Improved soldier movement to closely match that of Battlefield 3 while still maintaining animation fidelity of Battlefield 4.

Those are some really nice ones for foot soldiers. Suppression now affects you less. The visual recoil fix changes the whole feel of the guns and you'll definitely be more accurate. The red dots are brighter and smaller. It makes the Kobra a really good choice especially with the visual recoil patch. You probably never noticed the head flinching thing, but it's one of the reasons its hard to shoot enemies off of head glitches because everytime you'd shoot them their head would duck down out of sight but they could still shoot you. It takes one more bullet to kill now, making it easier to get away from gunfights.

The new Triage system and the defib beeping is very useful. It's also very nice that you can completely customize your UI.

Grenades like the RGO and V40s got nerfed by actual effectiveness and the amount you can carry at once. This really does cut down on nade spam a lot. It takes much longer to get grenades out of an ammo pack. Flashbangs got a buff and perform similarly to EMP grenades from Black Ops 2.

The revolvers no longer have a delay. Self explanatory, they're now useful.

DMRs didn't get a buff but them and snipers (along with the MPX and SR2) are the only guns that didn't get a damage nerf. The DMRs are actually very effective now. I recommend trying them out.

Rush is now much better on most of the maps. It's not the best but it's a lot of fun.

These are some of the major things. They seem pretty insignificant apart, but together it changed the feel of the game a lot and imo made it a lot better.
