Also why would the full map etc need to be redone from scratch.it wouldn't? maybe certain levels but not all? Neverless I wouldn't mind if it didn't have layers..lauers would make more work and possibly more problems when combined with player lagging on levels etc.

i dont see why they would make a layered tileset
according to chelt, layers arnt working on the facebook client, neither are particles so either the client got some buffs, or its a normal tileset |

So Chelt where we at on the tileset. Speaking on behalf of Zone players, I'm pretty sure we want to see the progress on the tileset. Unless there's no real progress that's why you haven't showed us anything lol.

How do layers work in a tileset? (I'm thinking of the gfx kind of layer) is it the thing where something is transparent when u go behind it

graal currently has no real functionality for layers, you cannot walk behind tiles (yet?)
right now, with the help of gonstruct, you can select through layer 0-X and create as many tileset layers as you wish and put tiles on another to your hearts desire (or until your level filesize explodes...) if you want it to contain semitransparency, it needs to be 24 bit PNG |
don't you use NPCs for layers anyways?
if its done, then use it now. We can already start using it whilst waiting for the tileset to be remade if layers need to be added. |
no npcs neccessary, no systems neccessary, every server supports layers, its just that a level filesize is bigger and differently encrypted

You basically have a tileset. On that tileset you have stuff like dirt tiles, and grass tiles and whatever you need. You also have small rocks for example. You put grass or dirt or whatever you need on layer 1, then put the stone on layer two. Therefore you only have one tile in the tileset wasted on that rock (cause you can place it on any tile you want and recombine it). If you didn't have that you need a tile for grass/rock, dirt/rock, etc etc |
Seriously, guys, the staff team is compromised of 10 people (excluding ZPs). Practically 2 of them are graphics artists.
How do you expect them to come up with a tileset in two days? Alright, so the older staff team failed to deliver on a tileset. But you all have no right to criticise the new one for not delivering on what the older team promised. |

You shouldnt have even announced it. You should've kept it a secret and then released it once it was time. Announcing something and then it taking forever stresses alot of people. So many people saw the announcement and now are waiting for it day in and day out. When it doesnt come, it makes people angry and stressed out wondering when its going to come.
When we were presented with the new layout of the map, we were not informed of it..It was a suprise. Therefor there was noone waiting for it, knowing that it would come one day..It was all a shock, a suprise. Next time, when your working on a big project, dont announce it until its completed and put in the game. It'll save you the stress of seeing tons of raged players waiting for it to come out and you can work on it in peace. |

You wouldn't necessarily need to redo every tile as levels could use old tileset of it and new tileset with layers implemented overtime/new levels. but up to you i guess. any guess or likeliness of expected release?

I'm just surprised no one has leaked part of the map on dev server yet. Dev staff (on zone especially) aren't necessarily known for being well-behaved staff.
