I actually do like this hat quite a bit, although I feel where you're coming from. Of the hats I've seen so far in game I am quite satisfied (would have loved to get mine in there), mainly hoping to get my hands on some of Bananer's hats :)

This would be the first time in my 4 years of playing Graal that I even got a decent amount of gifts, lol. I'm clearly trying to compensate for all these miserable years by hoarding.

Same thing happened to me. I spent 30+ hours animating an amazing rubiks cube hat last year, along with about 3-4 months making various other hats (10 or more? probably still have the files somewhere... was working on em since september). The only thing that gets accepted? A juggle I spent less than ten minutes on.

it's actually stupid as hell that they accept, or at least reward, recolors

I have 0 artistic ability and I can open Paint.NET or IrfanView and change a palette or drag a slider

I know you have to be recoloring an original hat in the first place, but that just seems like a stupid way to milk out quantity

Its stupid as hell they consider recolors as separate hats, but don't add them to some players, and add them to others.

Btw, Leah blocked me in game but idrc anymore, I saw it coming after she went and ****ed me over.

Don't tell me to get over it when I spent ages creating hats that got denied without good reasoning.

They aren't all recolors either. There's 3 very different versions, and the polka dotted version had 2 alternative versions. I didn't even GET the polka dotted versions.

Yeah you're new so maybe your work isn't the greatest technically speaking but **** it, I remember when my first hat was accepted for gifts and yeah, it sucked, but damn I wore it proudly and it motivated me so much to continue pixelling, still to this day

People get quality content all year round, im glad thats it not the same mix of people getting their work on the server every year and its always a variety of quality, I love the hats that are so bad I have to question what it actually is, but also love the hats that are so damn good im like wow im lucky!!

@Ivy You are a good pixel artist there's no doubt about that, and what you submitted was great, recolours or not (whatever). 21 hats!!! Damn, but thats 21 spaces you alone would take! Its much better community - wise that you or someone else only gets a fraction of that number, so 10, 11, 12 other people etc. can have theirs. I extend that to others you've mentioned as well, Storm, Teacup, you both among others did amazing pieces that definitely was higher than the bar, so all I can really say is, hey you did great and you're both great, theres always next year.

And yeah, I sit on the other side of the fence to you guys so I can't help but be a little bias, but the way I've thought about it sounds way nicer imo!!

TL;DR Most of you did great, but theres quality content all year round and its nice to have a variety of players rather than the same ones every year

I'd like to see the bow. I remember Teacupdolly's work being from another game, so maybe the staff had to measure on what they would pick from both of you, and not take any risks to just remove the hats later on.

I'd like to see the hats striken made. If anyone can post. Even if they were bad, the fact that he has no bad record and doesn't get mad over something like this, I'd rather let someone like him get his hats.

Who knows, maybe they couldn't accept anymore hats, maybe they accepted striken's first and didn't have room for more "quality" hats.

Everything I submitted. Yes there are recolors strictly because it's a bow and it can be in multiple colors. Only one that wasn't accepted was the panda hat.

Not bad, but I don't understand why that got accepted and this for example
is not.

The beanie looks a lot like dawn´s, backwards red and white cap with a green sign in the middle just like ash ketchum´s cap and the naruto mask (You admitted that one being too close to the original though).
also just because you think your hats are better than other hats being sold doesn´t mean it equals that. Your work isn´t as good as the work from Graphics Staff atm, you can still improve but judging from your current state you´ve still got a lot to learn. especially on your ego and temper like OP.

If Leah or Xor or whomever denied something, it was for good reason. I don't think they just say "oh hey I haven't denied something for a while and I'm bored, let me deny the next four submissions".

Not on pc so I cant edit to show, but you should add some aa. When I say that, try and use a darker shade for the detailing on the inside instead of black.

If that went into the actual rejection thought process, they could have at least made a submission cap and then people wouldn't be upset.
I don't see why there wasn't a 3-5 recolor limit either, seems reasonable. Now the guy who sent in 3 recolors of his hat is going to be buttsore because another guy had 8 recolors of his hat accepted, "Wahhh, I could have had more." Just seems like it was easily avoidable if outlined a little better.

I feel like Leah could privately tell people like Teacup why her hats were denied though? I mean, she took the time to make and submit them. The least the GATA could do is reply back with feedback or an explanation, takes 3 minutes. I get you can't do that for everyone, but at least for those who seem to have submitted quality work or a high number of pieces.

Lineart can be improved, and a little less saturation in the colours

Just to add on, there isn't a cap to recolors or amount, but the bottom line for submitting is quality > quantity. Recolors don't take long either but that doesn't mean everything should be.
