have opened 82 packs, somehow only managed to get 2 Legendaries out of them (terrible ones in this meta, Tinkmaster and Cairne)
was lazy today and decided to just straight-out buy 2 packs instead of do an arena run and got 1 in each of them Noz is awful, but thank goodness I finally got Rag |
finally got Alex for my freeze deck last week, feels good
|
haven't played in ages, i just do my daily ritual of watching the Kripp :(

also just saw you open an Edwin, nice stuck playing Zoolock and Face Hunter until I get better cards |

Will soon have enough to craft Sylvanas, had my eye on her for a while. Or maybe Rag or Dr. Balanced
Does Sylvanas fit in Zoolock or Facehunter? I'm a little hesitant on crafting the latter two because of all the BGHs I've been seeing in ladder play, and I''ve already got the fundamentals of those two decks in since I'm poor on dust and can't play the more expensive decks atm. Maybe I'll just craft Dr. Balanced |

specifically Handlock because of Shadowflame combo being able to immediately activate the Deathrattle effect while clearing the board Handlock is the one control deck I want to play, but it's one of the most expensive to craft also, the Dreamhack Grand Prix is all this week if anyone is into that: http://www.twitch.tv/dreamhackhs |
Yeah I've been really wanting to play Handlock lately. Been shopping around for new decks to play since I really don't like Freeze Mage's tempo. Feels too topdeck reliant, I can't count how many times I've stalled for ages just for Alex to be in the last 5 cards. Maybe if I had Antonidas
|
i thought that after playing this game,i would understand what weird **** all of you doods are saying...guess i was wrong.lol
WOOSH OVER THE HEAD LIKE AN ARPLANE! |
Maybe I'll craft Dr. Balanced and enjoy him until Blizzard nerfs him, then I can re-craft whatever I want.

I like how crazy taverns brawl is, but damn raggy needs a buff
guy playing nefarian MC'd my 20/20 molten giant legendary (forget the name) for 0 cost, such bs |
I really want Sylvanas cause she seems like such a fun card and I love how she makes opponents play inefficiently around her, but I just feel so compelled to craft Dr. Balanced cause he's so universally strong and will probably be nerfed later which would give me a free refund.
Maybe I'll craft Sylvanas and throw her in my Hybrid Hunter. |
damn, Nefarian is fun to play in TB, seems way stronger than Rag
they actually had to develop a lot of content for this, a lot of very specific cards just faced a Nefarian that got Malygos off of the 3-drop that summons a random Legendary, then he hero power'd and got Headcrack, he constantly hit me in the face for 10+ every single turn |
Nef reportedly has a 67% win rate, he's a lot stronger than Rag, but Rag gets so fun to play after you get the hero power.
Also crafted Sylvanas to top off the mana curve in my Hybrid Hunter and she's been nothing short of amazing. If the game isn't over by the time the face style transitions into the midrange style, opponents usually bring out the bigger cards like Tirion and have wasted their silences earlier because they thought it was Face Hunter, and then surprise Sylvanas. Also draws aggro away from the opponent's board so they can't trade with your main damage minions like Wolfriders and Huffers. Considering putting in a Feign Death but it would probably be too slow. Finally started playing Ranked, record with this deck so far is 9-2 and went from 19 to 14 in one night. Love when people start blowing their Owls on things like my Jugglers and Creepers. Sylvanas and Highmane become so powerful when those silences are out of play. |
This game seems fun. Might try it.
|
began running a shaman bloodlust deck, quite the change from a mech lock and its been fun so far
|
15-6 with this Hybrid Hunter deck so far. Love it. Can upload a decklist if anyone wants a competitive deck on a budget, a lot of people are using variants of this in tourneys and Legend.
|
tavern brawl is kew.
i had rag down to 12 health with chromagus (6-8) on the board then top-deck'd a 5 mana minion with 3 damage battlecry, EXACT LETHAL. |
holy **** looks like Blizzard decided to be generous today
Spoiler
|
Man, Mech decks are so annoying. They have so much value and synergy with each other.
|
I feel like a robot climbing the ladder using Face Hunter but it's hard to resist using a deck that feels like free wins vs. anything that doesn't include Healbots
|
I switched back to my updated Midrange Hunter, Face got really boring really fast. Still saving up dust for a Handlock deck too. Also crafted Dr. Balanced while I wait for Blizz to nerf him. He's pretty fun in Midrange Hunter.
|
Also been getting into Oil Rogue, this deck is insanely fun. Also feels so rewarding to execute combos.
|
post BattleTags, I have like no one to complete the "spectate a friend win" quest with :(
|
Started to play again. This game is so fun
|
Anyone here know a good cheap mage deck for ranked?
|
Honestly if you're set on playing Mage, for just starting off and learning the game, I'd just throw in the core spells like Fireball, Frostbolt, Polymorph, etc. and a balanced minion curve. You can probably get through to at least 15ish without netdecking and while still learning the game which is what I'd recommend.
Past then, there aren't many viable Mage decks for more competitive laddering aside from maybe Freeze Mage and Tempo Mage, both of which are extremely pricey and require DLC. And even then they're not that great. Warrior, Hunter and Warlock seem to be all the rage these days. You can construct Midrange Hunter, Zoolock, Face Hunter, and even the ridiculously ****y Patron Warrior for fairly cheaply and they're all top-tier decks right now. Face Hunter is the epitome of low skill floor, high skill cap as you can pretty much faceroll with it until you get placed against better players, which the deck is very difficult to play at that point, but still effective when played correctly. Zoolock is in the same boat. Patron Warrior is a very combo-heavy deck, harder to learn, but arguably a Top 3 deck in the meta right now. |
For a budget i'd play Zoo Lock or Mech Mage tbh, rn your best bet would be to get all the mechs that are played since u can build a lot of decks around those cards
|
Thanks guys

Zoo or Face Hunter are definitely the best budget decks
I think Zoo is sort of obsolete now to the Demon-y Zoo stuff with Voids and Malganis, but the OG Zoo deck is still pretty strong to me, I got to rank 8 just by playing it casually Almost every Mage deck is dependent on a Legendary like Archmage or Alex, I think most include Boom too, so they are usually kind of expensive |
Here is my current deck. I was looking around the internet before you guys replied and this is what I got: Any recommendations on what I could change?
I also made a random deck that used mostly random mage and neutral cards and worked for me quite a bit - was on a 10 winning streak on a mixture of casual and ranked. Currently on rank 20. Still needa get gud http://i.gyazo.com/e2d41e9ad2c85f80cbdbb05a77600ac0.png |
Patron can be built pretty well on a 1000 dust budget, but a lot of the cards are class specific which doesn't really help him out with other decks either, and it's fairly hard to learn, so yeah I'd recommend Face Hunter for now. Prob the best aggro budget deck atm
|
Just started playing hearthstone, I enjoy warlock, mage, paladin and warrior I have quite a lot of cards surprisingly any suggestions on how to build a stable deck for each.
with warlock I focus on powering up a 4-6 mana minion and using spells on the opponent. Mage I focus on taunting until I have the mana to play sorcerers apprentice where spells cost -1 spell damage +1 minions then using fireball with around 9-14 damage as opposed to 6. paladin I have no idea and warrior I guess I focus on character armour and attack as well as enraging minions and bombers |
Probably should've done this early but I'm going to go through solo and collect all the basic cards :/
When I play my mage netdeck I mainly focus on field control. I try and use the mana wyrm early in the game with mirror image. From there I use spells to which give it a +1 attack - making it a bit of a threat quite early |
I played aggro mage early on too, Mana Wyrm was my favorite card, aside from based fireball ofc. The Mana Wyrm + Coined Mirror Image start was the ****ing dream
3/3 with two taunts, who u gonna call Oh and one thing I noticed instantly about your deck were the Gadgetzans. I wouldn't use them at all, they were used almost exclusively in Miracle Rogue before the nerf and that's basically it. It has weak card draw since its a 6-drop and won't allow you instant value when played on curve and 4/4 is very weak for a 6 considering the standard Boulderfist @ 6/7. I'd highly suggest Acolyte of Pain or Loot Hoarders over the Gadgetzans, they're both very reliable card draw and much more efficient when played on curve |
Thanks for the recomendations
