Haha I know where he is coming from though, in general Kotaku just publishes link bait articles.

Hey guys, I just realized something. Y'know how gens 1-4 were in regions based mainly off of Japan? And gen 5 was based off New York City? Well, New York is in America. And I don't think this gen will be in a region based off France. The building everyone is thinking may be based off the Eiffel Tower may actually be based off either the Empire State Building or the Seattle Space Needle.

Jester Lapse 01-18-2013 12:10 AM

Why don't they use the pokemon sprites from the 3D Pokedex? The sprites look the same on this.

What "sprites" are you talking about? As far as I'm aware the pokemon in the battles are not sprites, but cel-shaded 3D models.

They are really running out of ideas for names. Pokemon X and Y? Seriously? I know they've made lots of Pokemon games but at least put some effort into naming them. I swear the last Pokemon game will be called Pokemon Coal...

T-10a 01-18-2013 07:32 AM

No, the X, Y is intended due to the three dimenisons, up and down (Y), left and right(X), and forwards and backwards (Z).

Bobby Ray B.o.B 01-22-2013 01:10 PM

I hope there is a dialga in y or x he is my favorite pokemon.

Look at the DNA shaped symbol on the Japanese titles and refine your answer.

I don't like the fire starter Pokemon. They have relied too much on dog designs in the recent additions. I used to appreciate how Eevee was really the only dog-like Pokemon, but you could evolve it through stones to vast differences. Speaking of which, they don't really seem to keep up with that tradition anymore either, there are so few.

I think it's pretty cool. It's based off of a fennec fox, which they haven't used yet.
"Fennekin" isn't a very creative name though...

YOU MAKE ME SO ANGRY

But I'm looking forward to this game.

Ash Ketchum 01-30-2013 09:35 AM

Ikr! there's over 300 colors in the world and he comes and says that they ran out of colors, ever thought that they wanted to do letters for a change?

Pazx 01-30-2013 03:52 PM

Also I'm REALLY excited for this game I don't own a 3DS and I haven't touched Pokemon or Nintendo since Pokemon Pearl and Twilight Princess and I think the 3D is poorly done and I still believe if they made a proper 3D console RPG with good online capabilities they would easily become the best selling gaming franchise ever but I love the starter designs and the legendaries and it makes me really happy because it means that R/S/E remakes will most likely be done in 3D properly.

sorry im excited i havent been excited for a game in a long time go away

That new MewThree(or whatever it will be called) just shows the huge gap between the designs of the older pokemon and the new ones. Though I will say it's possible the new one is a more accurate and successful clone of Mew, therefor it kind of justifies the "cute" and soft, round design. Otherwise you can see the big difference between the two:

http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/..._gen_i.png.jpg

http://images.nintendolife.com/news/...nt/0/large.jpg

Mewtwo had so many sharp edges and wasn't afraid of an angle or two in the lines. Pointy joints, muscular-like chest and pointy eyes with a bit of anger behind them. The new one is round, round... and more round.

Ash Ketchum 04-07-2013 10:23 PM

idk why Mewthree reminds me of Frieza from dragon ball z >_<

princess becca 04-07-2013 10:36 PM

cool looks more feminine than masculine so mabe a female form?

Jester Lapse 04-07-2013 10:39 PM

Lati@s duo, the Genies (Landorus, Tornadus, Thundurus), Cresselia and Heatran all have genders.

Well it does have them ears which are pretty pointy so i guess they coukd be said

Remorse 04-07-2013 10:53 PM

Was gonna mention heatran earlier but I was entirely sure.

"Believe it or not, Heatran is a legendary pokemon even though it has a gender. As a matter of fact, all legendary pokemon were genderless until Generation 3 when Latias and Latios were the only legendaries with genders. Cresselia is also a legendary pokemon with a gender. Heatran is just the first and currently only legendary pokemon that doesn't have a set gender"

Sup3rn00b 04-07-2013 10:53 PM

Cresselia.

I am dead serious, I have NEVER heard of this thing.

Known as the Eon Pokémon, Latias and Latios are two legendary Pokémon originating from the Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald series of games. They are female and male respectively, and the first legendary Pokémon to have genders.

Quote:

Cresselia is one of six legendary Pokémon that has a definite gender, the other five being Latias (a female-only species), Latios (a male-only species) and the Kami trio (whose members are all male-only species).

I refuse to accept them as legendaries. They hold no value (except latios and latias) and I refer to them as sub-legendaries because they are more or less of a filler to get more "legendary" pokemon in one game.

Yes, they are legendaries on the exterior, but they really miss the point of what getting a legendary was about, having a good backstory and being hard as hell to get. Like Mewtwo or Kyogre.

Sup3rn00b 04-07-2013 11:12 PM

Lati@s was one of the hardest Pokémon to catch in the main series games. And what makes the Genie trio not legendary? Just because they're not a version mascot and/or in the first 151 doesn't make them "sub-legendary". They're legendaries, and they have genders.

Jester Lapse 04-07-2013 11:34 PM

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/th...Uxie_anime.png

are these the people you are referring to?

Let me explain something, when I say sub-legendary, I mean the legendaries that are not exactly a part of the main story or have no real story at all. They are just there for the sake of having more than one legendary in the game at a time.

Latios and Latias are like the easiest legendaries to catch as of GEN5

Sorry, my views on legendaries don't match up with the actual definition. To me, they are like the demi gods of the gods.

Remorse 04-07-2013 11:40 PM

Pretty sure those are the lake guardian legendaries.
The Kami trio are the ones from Generation 5
