I don't think the alpha tweening looks nice.

yeah im pretty undecided about it, i might turn it to a simple browner tone to indicate wetness, also elongating the waves a little further increasing the frames entirely

getting a result closer to this but definitely slower lol:

the most troublesome problem i face is the gap between those tiles... i have to use 1 giant MNG to having it stay in sync, if i use seperate mngs, it desyncs :| and the mng has a restriction of 256 colors aswell, so i cant go and smooth the tiles inbetween...

but since the wave part and corners are simple walkables, i might be able to replace them with nearby walkables so i can make them compact in one place

EDIT:

me googling animated beach tiles for references...

this one looks nice:

just like all servers on graal, we are always looking for talented and mature people

but be aware, all of our staffs are older than 25 years

Are you using mng because gif tiles are not supported or because it's a moving image with transperency? Just wondering

Skyzer 10-10-2016 01:17 PM

Because MNG is better.

Graal supports GIF, but MNG is much more efficient than GIF is. A few GIF animated tiles will be enough to slow down the client, but you can animate the entire screen with MNG and hardly slows it down.

Or simply put, MNG is better.

Ahh thanks for the info, was just unsure of the benefits with mng instead of gif other than semi-transparency animations

Elk 10-10-2016 04:09 PM

mngs dont support semi transparency animations unfortunately

and transparency doesnt work at all for MNGs @ tilesets unfortunately

Hmm I thought it supported semi-transparency animations from some things I've seen on ol'west but ofcourse it could have just been done with the assistance of ganis etc. Oh well my bad
