Just to keep everyone in the loop on this, currently the goal is to not just fix spawning but the systems are being completely renovated from the ground up.

That means as a player you'll no longer see bugs spawned on water and on walls, bugs are much easier to catch now with lag-compensation and such with the detection, and bug populations scale with player count. Overall the goal is to provide a much more pleasant bug-catching experience, but that also means it takes time.

You guys should try factoring in how many players are currently in the idle/reconnect level with that. I know people love to AFK overnight US hours.

How did you manage to do this? or did you just make it easy, like "swing net and done"?

It does.

Nice... Now we need a bug-catching leaderboard that follows the same scoring pattern as BKing!

I hope pleasant doesn't necessarily mean easier, bugs being difficult to catch is a part of the fun. Should the lag compensation work well and make a bug catching experience that feels very accurate, maybe you could introduce some bugs that are very difficult to catch.

Of course, right now you guys are just focusing on the system and it's current bugs, not on introducing new bugs. But maybe someday in the future

Please make bugs accurately represented - ie the black beetle came for one season, then vanished forever. Same with spider... one season, then gone. Some bugs are super rare, and I like that, but when they are introduced, having them disappear shortly thereafter never to be seen again is kinda disappointing.

I think that's kinda cool, though... Sort of like how hat collectors prize hats that aren't available anymore.

I see your point, thallen. Kind of like the pillbug's rarity in general. More cave-dwelling insects/bugs would be cool, though.

In other news... It's mantis day. The witch is asking for them specifically, and giving a whopping 3 gralats per mantis. That's criminal.

Now upon entering your house or guild house, any bugs that have been released there will be sent back into your inventory, and can't be released again. Reason??

Going to go out on a limb and say it has to do with what this thread topic is about...
