Moral of the story: **** Apple

I never had problems with Chromebooks in school, and I spent an entire semester in an online class using them. Chromebooks are nowhere near as expensive as a Macbook, nor do they have the same functionality, one is for general use and the other is solely for web browsing (as well as whatever other services Google offers).

Well wtf did I expect, you get what you paid for.

-Apple's software is usually proprietary, so they're out of the question

-Google spies on their users too make and uses it for third party marketing. They also sell out to the government and don't even bother fighting for consumer privacy(Even comcast spent money and went to court to try and defend the anonymity of a customer, and look how corrupt they are). For this reason, I'll be sticking with Comcast even if Google fiber comes to my area(though I will try to negotiate a better rate by threatening to switch to Google, they won't catch my bluff)

-Microsoft isn't perfect either. The whole anti-trust issue with netscape was a serious ethics issue, but that's in the past and Microsoft has been a lot better recently.

You realize Google expands outside of their own services, right? So many websites use Google adsense. In addition, the majority of users post content to Youtube, which is pretty hard to get by since it's the only place to view certain content. They pretty much control the market for video sharing, alternatives are rarely used.

With that said, just because you can opt out of their services doesn't make them in the right. There's plenty of companies that **** their customers that get a lot of hate, even if their products/services aren't a monopoly/a need.

I am horrified that Microsoft is winning this poll.

Microsoft is a terrible company with wide reaching horrors.

1. Gaming -- Any number of game development studios have been ruined by Microsoft buyouts. RareWare, Age of Empires company, and now Mojang.

2. Have you used any Microsoft products in the last ten years? Office might be okay still but Windows? Skype? These are not good and in fact quite bad.

3. They just want to be Apple. They're trying to copy Apple's tablets and OS (especially with Windows 10--it's basically named after OS X). This in my mind proves that Apple is better. When was the last time Apple copied an idea from Microsoft?

4. Speaking of Apple, Microsoft is seriously lacking in the "suite" department. Whereas OS X gives you all sorts of nice programs like iPhoto and Messages, Microsoft does none of this in any productive way and even gives you eye pains while you do it since Windows has gotten so ugly. They just try to make Windows look generically "modern" but I'd say Apple has already progressed past that.

5. Microsoft doesn't even make their own computers. So they just give crappy software that people are forced to use because it's the industry norm for software companies and game companies... Why?

I run Windows 7 and 10 but that doesn't mean I am happy about it.

Ugh just because you criticize a charity doesn't mean you are being discriminatory. If anything wanting to make the best use of money to help those in need and not just blindly tossing money at any charity makes you less discriminatory. If anything being an SJW is discriminatory.

Skype was bought out by Microsoft, it wasn't their initial product. Skype is and always has been a total **** VOIP program.

Or Microsoft realizes Apple is overpriced, so they create a superior product for much cheaper. There's nothing wrong with "modernizing" the UI to fit Tablets-that's not "ripping off of Apple". That's called adapting to an evolving industry.

There's plenty of tools built into windows, and you have the windows store to get more apps easily. The windows 10 UI is much better than Windows 8, I've ran the developer preview.

The OEM computer market is so volatile that it isn't worth it. It's much more profitable to sell OEM liscenses to Dell, HP, etc and volume licenses to corporations than to make the computers themselves.


PS: I'm hoping to learn Linux, pretty sure it's the best OS, open source ftw.

Ok, you mean like EA, Activision, and every other major game publisher? Gotcha.

Compared to what? Skype does what I need it to do. Microsoft's server operating systems are piss easy to use and pretty straightforward too, forgot to mention that they still dominate that market as well.

Yep, Apple sure makes superior products because of that very reason. You sure convinced me. Let's ignore the fact that iTunes is the biggest pile of **** I've ever experienced and single handedly made me get rid of my iPhone in favor of an Android device.

Windows is crappy? What is this, 1999? Windows has been rock solid since they got rid of Win9x and stuck with NT. Apple's own hardware was so overpriced and ****ty that they had to start using Intel CPUs. Get real, Apple's own computers are underpowered for their price ranges and you're basically just paying for the badge.

I've been playing around with various Linux OSes and that **** is still ****ing ******ed. I had to Google "how to open DVD". It's good to learn though, around here a lot of companies are looking for people experienced with Linux (especially Red Hat).

The Microsoft Surface tablet is no where near comparable to Apple's tablets, have you ever even used one MattKan? Apple tablets are so limited in what they can do whereas the Surface tablet is like any other computer and works like any other computer. It's so much better.

Also, Skype isn't even bad it works perfectly fine

Just make sure to get the pro edition, the RT edition isn't nearly as good and I sadly know this because I spent $500 and bought the RT by accident and they refused to refund (my first and only issue with Microsoft) still good to watch Netflix on though.
