-Don't drink/eat anything with caffeine shortly before you intend to sleep(soda, coffee, chocolate, etc)

-Exposure to the light used in displays actually tricks your body into thinking its day. Try other activities that don't use a screen before you go to sleep.

-Try to empty your mind

oh, i interpreted the title as "what are your sleeping preferences" not literally "how" lol. But in that case: i always start lying down on my left side; when that side gets tired, i turn over to my right side to fall asleep; if i wake up in the middle of the night, i turn back to my left side (mainly to look at clock).

When sleeping on my left side: bottom (left) hand goes between my mid-thighs; top (right) hand goes around my Sqüsh beanie pillow
When sleeping on my right side: bottom (right) hand reaches under the pillow searchin for dat cool spot; top (left) hand goes around beanie pillow

Even further off topic: last year i had an insomniac roommate who slept more than i did... He has beyond severe DSPD (a type of melatonin deficiency) and didnt have medicine for it... His average bedtime was 5am (2am on a good night, 6:30am on the worst night), and woke up anywhere between 2-7pm... and on weekends he could sleep 16-20 hours/day. So the light in our room was only on a few hours a day for our rare intersecting awake hours.

Wow, right after I answer this thread, I end up having trouble sleeping due to mild nausea. This has been happening to me for like 2-3 months -_-

I turn from side to side for about 2 hours until I fall asleep

I like to sleep with my teddy bears because my teddy bears will protect me from the bad guys!
The bad guys are:
Mama June
Fresh prince
Bill nye
Yellow bird from Sesame Street
Those hating ppl who make multiple pk guilds because the guild they were in didn't give them a hat or they didn't get accepted to alumni.
Barney
Courage the cowardly dogs enemies.
Every episode in the show goosebumps
Spoderman
Betmun
Captain crunch
Princess becca and ash ketchup
That dog from the commercial cookie crisp
And finally jennamarbles

I cuddle with the blanket, put some type of cushion between the legs for comfort. I also sleep with a box fan because I find the noise and slight breeze coming at me super comforting and frees my mind of the eerie silent "eeeeee" sound you hear when there's no sound going on.

Good last resort if you're just up all night, lowers blood pressure and releases endorphins which relax you and make you tired. Can really help if you're having a rough time falling asleep.

I sleep with a minecraft creeper plush (bought from etsy a year or 2 ago from Canada cx wasn't cheap tho)
His name is Mr. Sir Charles

Somewhat on topic, but I just read that if you sleep or nap with someone in a close proximity or in each others arms it releases trust chemicals in your brain and when you wake up it's like you've known the person for years. Scientific sleepovers man.

Ambien

Way to scary, I've seen kids fall off a balcony to their death on that:(

Melatonin tho, knocks you out pretty quick.

You can always chloroform yourself.

Just remember to have somebody take the cloth off your face.

Another suggestion, get your mother/father to knock your lights out.
