What I can't wait for is Charlotte, an anime original made by Jun Maeda of Key (Clannad, Kannon, Air, Angel Beats) And produced by P.A. Works (Nagi-Asu, ShiroBako, Angel Beats) and hopefully it'll become more developed and still as tear jerking as Angel Beats.

the most overrated anime

Anime was short and rushed and felt somewhat forced, but I still love the MC's whole backstory with his sister and the train. It was heart warming for me, although I did not cry, I had a lot of sympathy for the Main Character. Still nothing compared to Anohana, but I do love my Jun Maeda, especially for the songs he has done with Nagi Yanagi and all his work before Angel Beats. Plus still waiting for Angel Beats VN to have a fully developed story.

Angel beats got to me evoking more sad emotions than any other anime. Ive seen quite a few animes, but I don't consider myself obsessed with anime. I definetely think angel beats is not overrated and is definitely tear-jerking worthy.

Flaws were present but that didn't really get in the way. Angel beats was different. It made it kind of cool.

so having horrible character development, story being rushed wasn't getting in the way. okay.

It didn't have the time or episodes to develop characters which sucked but I don't really blame the anime for that.
It is like a short story vs a novel. Both can be good and deep, but you are expecting different things. Angel beats gave everyone some character- and then choose a few special people to go into backstories with. It kept a high pace and that made it easy to watch- as its not a huge commitment to only watch (13?) episodes.

which is a huge flaw and fails to do the source material any favors. They focused on the big three, everyone else was basically here's my name and you'll forget it because I'll do almost nothing all series.

Most animes don't require a commitment to watch, and most people in our fanbase are ones who marathon entire series in a day, so I fail to see how having more episodes to give the story some actual content would of been too much for people.
