Why you edit your post?

Having NCJ and Callimuc appointed onto the staff body was inevitable. Through actions on this forum and on various servers, their hiring was a long time coming and expected by most.

The next time we hire we might not be releasing applications. We're playing with the idea of having a screening process to find out who's good for the job before getting them to apply.

The general idea is to figure out who we want beforehand and go from there.
But, it's just an idea, we might just stick to applications.

so like choose a whole lot of people and then go from there??

I'm not one to voice my opinion but in general applications for online games can be misleading as the users can 'lie' about their age. NYN went into further detail on this subject on his Facebook wall and the result of that issue concluded with him hiring in a different fashion as to fellow GP Admins. This method worked by short listing possible users for the job on the basis of how they respond and react to others across the Internet and on the various servers and if interested they would then begin an interview with the possible candidate.

Having an alternative hiring approach may make the process easier to find the deserving players. This may be not be my call as I don't know of any previous problems with appointing PRs on iEra but if this technique works for other servers I'm sure it could help the hiring team here.

The proposed screening process is just an idea as Reno said but it may be a better alternative for hiring than the original application for the position

Yes, screening process, like in the Windex commercials. Players have a window placed in front of them that has very recently been cleaned, on the other side is a NPC of SNK saying, "Grab me to become and ADIAM :D". If you run into the window, you fail the screening process.

i actually think this idea is way better! tho if u were to do this it would be kinda hard to look at all the players and stuff...... quiker! Faster! more reliable :D...... well idk

Well its a good idea alright, like a trial maybe.

Main problem with people we hire? They get bored and abuse.
We need players who work through boredom and can still follow the rules despite temptation.
Being a PR is fun for all of a month, if you can't cut it, don't even bother trying :3

I just checked the logs, and Callimuc doesn't abuse, nor does Pimpsy...

As far as Mariah Nicole, she wasn't fired for 'abuse' per se, we (the PRA team) decided that she was too comfortable using her staff-tools whenever she pleased (gagging a lot of people for little to no reason).

Most people that get fired, are fired because of item dropping :(

Funny. If you check the death of a family member thread you'll see where mariah is now faking her own death and failing miserably. I say lock and ban her account, if shes dead she won't need to use it right? Bet your happy she got fired. These antics could have made the staff team look bad.

Sorry to say , but most people on this web site are quite expirenced with graal , and they wont really need to ask questions . Try putting it on your status or saying it in a popular spot like start or by the shell shop .
