Have a laser scanner thing run across the goggles.

I'm not so well at GIF's D:

You just need to create each separate frame, then in a gif animator set the timing between each so it looks fluent.

I can try. I doubt it'll turn out nice.

Just add a different laser position onto each frame. Then the several copies/layers can be compiled together to make the Gif image. Timing is necessary and the 'fps' can be altered on GIMP to give the moving laser a smooth touch. Good luck :)
