I think the only thing more broken that the aim assist in this game would be the melee.
Holy **** does melee piss me off. Somebody could be like 10 feet away from you and their fist will automatically magnetize to your face. And worse yet, sometimes it looks like you melee'd first but in reality the game registered the other person's button click first so its misleading as **** and it just makes you think "WTF that asshole should be dead, not me." I swear the melee in this game gives me PTSD of Warlock's 20 ft range melee in Destiny. |
reminds me of a video about COD I saw a while back that showed 2 people's perspectives and showed how Person A can see and shoot at Person B before Person B even sees Person A.
When I played the free weekend of TF2 I didn't even use my melee. Never got close enough to anyone to need to, especially with the speed and grappling hook. Getting close to someone without killing them or dying seemed near impossible. |

You don't even need to be at point blank range to execute you can just be a couple feet away and you'll lunge forward its BS. |
As I said, MW2 Commando all over again. Not fun at all to get meleed in this game. Feels like you been cheated your kill.

Volt got buffed and R-97 got nerfed its a dream come true!
https://forums.titanfall.com/en-us/d...notes/p1?new=1 Also Devotion got nerfed as well thank god. |
Ion nerfs makes me feelsbad. Happy to hear R-97 getting tweaked and Volt getting buffed. Flatline nerf is eh and R201 buff is a welcome addition. Devotion and Amped DMR nerf was needed imo but hope Devotion don't go from A to F tier like Volt nerf did. Gonna buy Ronin and Tone Prime cos they look dope af.
|
Yeah not too sure how I feel about Ion.
I do believe she was too reliant on Laser shot but in that case at least buff Splitter Rifle's damage just a little bit to compensate. Laser core also felt like it was in a good position as well although Grand Cannon is pretty meta at the moment. |
Might have to use Refraction Lens now. Ion Laser Shot needed to be look at but nerfing Laser Core is a bit overkill. Rip.

wow i mustve missed this threading actually getting posts. I cant wait for monarch, about to watch the trailer since I've been gone.

Okay after playing for a few hours, here are my impressions:
- I don't like Relic. Relic just feels too confusing, too cramped and generally just doesn't fit the flow for Titanfall in my opinion. Didn't like it in TiF1 so no surprise I don't like here in 2. - Monarch is extremely fun. She steals shields and uses her Upgrade Core to upgrade her kit. She's probably going to be my main as her kit really fits my playstyle. The XO-37 Chaingun from Titanfall 1 returns (my favorite Titan weapon) and she fires unguided missiles (which can be upgraded in the Upgrade Core 3 to be locked on). Plenty of options for her. - The weapon changes are alright. Devotion truly feels like it got hit hard while Volt feels fun and powerful again. R201 range dmg buff felt pretty good and I've yet to try the Flatline and P2016. R-97 still shreds in close range, but that's what the gun is supposed to do. - Ion.. Ion nerfs hit hard. Laser Shot doesn't do as much damage, you can't fire 2 in succession no more and Laser Core damage reduction was just the tip of the cake. Her defensive options are still great with Vortex Shield but one of Monarch first upgrades is a hard counter to it as it drains more energy from the Vortex Shield when shot at. I will still use Ion but I feel they overnerfed her a bit. Those were just my impressions. Overall, a really good patch minus Relic map. Oh right! Crash Site got updated and now have zip-lines and more walls to run on. The map feels much, much better than before. |
I've only played Relic once and I think its an alright map. I certainly like it more than Colony. God I ****ing hate Colony. There's always that asshole who snipes in the tower with a G2 and whenever you try to deal with them you get executed from behind from any one of these asinine buildings.
Monarch is pretty good. Although its really annoying to deal with like three of them at the same time and a Ronin Prime just goes in for the execution. I have never been too good with Laser Shot so the same goes with Energy Siphon, I always whiff my shots super hard. The XO16A2 is extremely powerful against Titans though. You can easily chew through a Northstar and swoop in for the execution but against Ronin you have to be more careful. You can sorta evade Ronin's attacks and phase dashes but you still will take some damage. I feel Maelstrom will be pretty handy against Ronin if you have Counter Ready as you can just bait him into your electric smoke and shoot the **** out of him then execute. However the more I play as Monarch the more I've come to hate Tone. As a Northstar you can sorta cheese tone using clever positioning and Cluster Missile and hopefully she'll never land 3 hits on you. As Monarch, you really can only rely on flanking Tone but even then she can still turn around and paint you very quickly. It makes fighting Tone a lot more difficult and time consuming as you don't have any way to manipulate the Tone into moving out from behind her Particle Wall. I guess Volt is slightly better, it doesn't suck at close range now. I really don't see much difference with the R-97 since my tactic has always been to bum-rush people with gun runner instead of sniping them which makes 0 sense with a SMG. Haven't seen a single Ion since the update so that says a lot. |

never heard of it tbh |
Yeah apparently it was a map in the first game.
|
Quote:
maybe it didn't appear yet on ps4 then because idk never saw it and i recall playing it on the first titanfall, pretty gud map |
Been playing around with the Volt and its honestly a lot better.
But it just kinda feels like a sidegrade to the CAR and I'm not too fond of weapons with relatively lower rate of fire. I think Homestead just overtook Colony for my least favorite map. Its just so annoying to get around especially once the titans start dropping in. Also should note that Northstar is a no-go when playing on Relic since a good chunk of the map makes it impossible for her to use Flight core and Hover. At least on Homestead I can go wherever I want and still get pestered by everything. |

I still don't like Relic. I try the map again and again yet it doesn't stick well with me. Crash Site feels better but still feels too small for Titanfall 2. Honestly, a lot of the maps were designed much better in 1 than 2. 1's maps just felt natural, fun to play on, and was designed around the movement of Titanfall. Just don't feel it with 2 tbh. |

I should run stim more often but phase-shift is just too good. Most maps I'm fine with in fact I'm a little pissed that I don't see Glitch more often. Crash Site feels like its just the right size. People usually go where all the action is anyways. |

War Games? Third slot so we can pick Primary, Secondary, and Anti-Titan weapon? Frontier Defense in July? Holy, this has to be one of the most exciting patches I've seen yet. I LOVED War Games in TiF1 and they're even bringing back the special sim intro that was used in TiF1. Having the third weapon slot was how it should have been from the get-go as this was how TiF1 was and changing it in TiF2 made me wonder why they did a change like that but I love that it's going back to how it was. Frontier Defense coming in July also have me excited as the mode was extremely fun in TiF1. A co-op horde defense mode that just works and I'm hyped to see it return. This also seems to be a patch that will change around quite a few weapons due to testing from the High TTK mode but I'll give my opinions on that when we get actual changes. Overall, I'm really excited for this patch (Did not like Relic but Monarch was pretty fun). |
Oh **** yeah extra weapons slots.
Now I can finally utilize the REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Auto .45 without getting ****ed by Titans. |
The patch is out! Here is my thoughts on it:
- War Games is such a fun map on TiF2. As I said earlier, it was one of my favorite maps on the 1st one and it remains that way on the 2nd. I love the visual aesthetics of the map, it's great to parkour on and I love that they bought back the intro from TiF1. Much rather this map than Relic. - The third weapon slot helps wonders. No longer do I have to choose between anti-titan weapon and a sidearm as the anti-titan weapon was the one I mostly chose anyway. As I said in my inital impressions, I wish it was like this from the get-go but am glad they finally patched it in. - Sadly, I thought this patch would be without any balance changes since they did not list any balance changes in the notes. As of this post, they still didn't but the sub-reddit of Titanfall found some tweaks this patch did. For one, Amped Weapons are no longer perm until death. When activated, the boost lasts for 30 seconds and then your weapons revert back to normal. I like this change but feel either the time limit needs to go up a bit or the activation cost to go down. 30 seconds feel so low. Example here: Amped Weapons nerf - Another change is Phase Shift getting 1 charge instead of 2. They however compensate this by allowing you to Phrase Shift for a longer amount of time. No complaints for this change as even I used Phase Shift a lot and found that it needed a change. - Stalkers now damage your titan tremendously if you step on them. I dislike this change so much as the damage is high for no reason at all. Take a look here: Stalkers Damage on Titans - Stim has been nerfed a bit by reducing the bonus you get with movement speed. Kinda eh. All in all, still my favorite patch but I wish Respawn mentioned these changes in their patch notes. |
I bought this game on console when it was on sale. Great single player but the multiplayer is inaccessible for newbies like me. First 3 games were against players with full prestige. This was a few months ago though, has anything changed?

Also I can finally level my sidearms I pretty much never used those over anti-Titan weapons. I sorta get why Stalkers do so much damage to Titans. Its to stop them from just romping around without any problems and easily grinding points/money. Quote:
There's a pretty steep learning curve but I feel that in order for you to get good at the game, you have to play against the good players first. |

But you're on PC so matchmaking is probably terrible since there's an even smaller player base. I liked it quite a bit when during the trial but never felt the urge to actually buy it... Maybe if I didn't have BF1, but I don't really need another shooter game. |

Its incredibly punishing for low-health Titans like Ronin and Northstar. Quote:
During the free weekend the population was at a stable 2k+ but after it dropped back down to around 1.4k. |
I can't help but to think that if this game had come out one month later I'd be playing it over Siege, or at least splitting the time. What an awful move to launch between two established IPs. A lot of people missed a gem here.

Anyways, Lawbreakers beta drops later and that looks like a faster paced Titanfall without the Titans. Seems similar to Quake and other arena shooters and I'm beyond hyped for it. Will leave impressions later. |

Plus the video I saw had a round where they had to charge a battery and the ****ing voiceover was saying "battery" every 2 seconds. |

You could sneeze in the general direction of a non-Titan enemy and they'll just keel over. |
