How can people enjoy this game at all.
Gameplay is boring and the planets look crappy in my opinion

It doesn't look like a terrible game. It just wasn't branded as the game it really is. It's not even as much of an exploration game as it is a survival game, and it's imo a bad survival game at that. But there's a fair amount of games that people really like that are just grind games for resources/items. It's also pretty damn cool looking for an indie game (even though the trailers showed it looking even cooler than that's actually in the game), but that's what it is. Not a AAA $60 game with complex gameplay. Plus everyone was straight up lied to dozens of times for dozens of things that were told to be in the game but actually isn't, which only causes more detest for the game. It could have been a cool $20 game. Problem is they targeted an audience that the game didn't fit for.

If they advertised it for exactly what it was, there would be so much more positive reviews about the game.

Turns out the steam refund thing was not true and Steam accidentally refunded 20,0000+ copies to players regardless of playtime. I wasn't quick enough :(
