Whoa, this thread exploded now that the game is fully up.

I'm running Archery/Shadowplay/Vitalism.

Archery is my primary source of damage, shadowplay is currently just for the utility(mainly the stealth for turning in trade packs, and vitalism is my ability to be a backup healer in fights.


So I'm raking in about 50-70G an hour just doing trade runs to Austera, it's pretty awesome. Converted to real money, that's like $15 an hour lol.

Can't wait until our guild finishes our galleon. We're a small community, about 80 strong(with maybe 10-20 super dedicated members), and the teamwork and tactics I've seen are spectacular

does this game really require 40GB of disk space

Right now mine is taking up around 20GB.

It's a ~9 GB download, and when uncompressed it takes 20-30 GB of disk space. It just needs 40GB or so initially to move the files.

APEX is selling for 25G on my server(They cost $10), 2 of them gets you Patron status for a month+some leftover credits. I make like 30G in one trade run. My trade runs are worth like $10 a run and take like 30 minutes lol this is so easy.

These queue times are awful but the game itself is pretty darn fun. I've hit the Labor limit a few times and drained it while mining, but I've almost got my house :)

Make sure to join Naima, and pick a Nuian or Elf. The login queues are really bad atm, they should improve once they fix a particular bug though.

queueage is a nice game when the queues aren't 6+ hours (no exaggeration, I've sat in queues for more than 6 hours)

Holy mother of queues, well I guess thats why Ive been saving up for all the other hyped games!

i love the queues that take roughly 1/3 of your day and allow you 2 hours at most of realistic playtime if the game doesn't crash, kick you out for AFK or servers don't randomly crash for no reason

played for 15 min before servers restart and kick me out, re-queued at noon, 4 hour queue, finally get in, crash while loading (lol), queue is longer and I have work to do tonight so I'm getting 30 minutes of playtime today at the very most assuming the game doesn't crash again. glad my spot is being taken by gold sellers and farm/trade bots

This is actually making Riot during the LizardSquad DDoS and Opeli incidents look like a fabulous company. Sad for those who paid for Patron, Trion is the ****tiest company I've experienced in a long time. I would be pissed if I were paying for Patron atm. The CEO was actually laughing at how ****ty this launch was without addressing a single thing, from Patron "priority queues" being fake and the ridiculous waittimes to play.

Is there a known reason why they aren't addressing this issue with adding more servers?

they supposedly are, but they don't want to add too many right now because "muh spreading of population"

There's an exploit people are using to remain online so that they get full online labor regen+not stuck in queue. It's extremely well known and literally everyone is using.

They have a build that's shipping tomorrow that fixes this exploit, so that should significantly reduce queues.

Anyways, they're idiots when it came to calculating the population at launch. I told them 6 servers wasn't enough, and that OBT numbers weren't accurate at launch(who plays when they dont get to keep their stuff), but they told me they're "ready to add more servers if needed".

And here we are with 11 servers and massive queues on all of them.

They're adding more servers, they're installing new hardware as the shipments come in. They're also actively kicking AFK mount levelers and are decreasing the AFK timer to shorten the queues as much as possible.

They had to use the numbers they had right then, and they didn't foresee the massive launch they had.

queued at 1:00 PM yesterday, got in at 10:20 after a 3k queue and got a solid hour of playtime before I had to sleep because my schedule is ****ed due to League's Worlds. i'm not even on a populated server, I'm on ****ing Inoch and these queues are still disgusting. and sadly during the workdays the queues aren't long enough for me to queue when classes start and get on after, so that's convenient too

it also appears I have roughly 15 minutes to respond to a queue popping else the "Gods" disconnect me for character-select AFKing lmao

sorry I have things to do in the meantime and can't sit around watching a queue go down all day Trion

oh okay so the Patron queue thing got fixed and apparently idlers are being kicked out for Patrons / the bots kicked out too

Get a good group:

Rock salt stabilizers are worth 1-2 gold each and you get 10-15 of em per pack. Stealth to the resource trader if you have to.

if yiou're west, run marianople duck down to villanelle.

if you're east run some trade pack to two crowns, nobody camps it\

if you get chased drop boats on em(summon your rowboats or clippers in their path if they're chasing to slow them down)

if you get harpooned then stealth+ dive into the water until they leave

if you can craft an dive helmet, get that and go hunting near seabug patches are.(noobs die to them and lose packs). Or go diving where bloodstains are in deep water.

If you're looking to steal packs from the enemy faction, here's some tips:

-Have one player as a forward scout spamming stealth as a shadowplay, warning of oncoming ships

-Have the rest ready to glide onto the ship and steal

-Get the galleon for the radar, get 2 more clippers with eco fuel that cut them off with harpoons.

God damn the PvE in this game is dull. I have no idea what is going on in this story. The only reason I'm still playing is because endgame looks cool.

Archeage isn't a PVE game. It's pretty much all about PVP(Open world, trade run, castle sieges, arena) and tradeskills.

If you're looking for good PVE:

GW2 for casual PVE
Wildstar for hardcore PVE
Tera for the combat(can be both casual and hardcore)
ESO for good story questing

leveling in this game is probably the most boring and tedious leveling I've ever had, it's only fun if you're skyping with friends

you can level through pvp, crafting, and trade runs. I stopped questing/grinding at level 20, never looked back. Level 44 now.

Idk why people call this stuff boring, it's quite fun when you have friends playing with you. I'm even limiting the skills I use to certain skills so my character fits my theme and I'm still going perfectly fine and it's just as fun as playing normally.

BTW whoever so running the Western Trade Federation, I'm on naima now and I'm training to join the guild! Since my name is Coconuthead, I'm clearly going to destroy everything in my path.

playing with my Enguard friends on NA Enla since 3 days ago, we're all level 37-40 right now

this game seems really good so far, only even bothering to come to these forums because the servers are down right now for a patch

Guild finished our merchant ship, will have our galleon soon. Already got a huge fleet of clippers and farm carts. I got a nice 2 story guild manor. Feelsgoodman.

Our alliance went to freedich, and got in a pretty big war with Xen of Onslaught. We land at ~7:00

Tips to level up quickly? I've been playing for about 2 weeks and am at only level 23. The questing gets kinda stale.

If you have a lot of labor to burn:

-Use a vocation tonic

-craft a bunch of easy crap like iron ingots/fishing hooks(also gets your proficiency up

- go afk for an hour while its crafting

-come back with 2-3 levels gained.

You guys should join my friends guild on Calleil, it's called the Ragged flagon and it's got some very nice and helpful people in it, and I'd love it if we could get it big enough to become an empire.

Well, after getting banned from archeage for no reason, I'm still waiting to be able to play again. Kinda pissed my subscription days are being wasted and im getting nowhere with their system. I am just wanting to know what caused me to get banned... I think this marks over 2 weeks I haven't been able to play now.

So after like 1000+ gold, lots of tears, and almost ragequitting, I finally got my magnificent lightning bow to Unique rarity. Never again will I regrade past heroic, its too painful QQ

I would have enjoyed this so much more had the combat, armor, PvE and UI not been so obscenely unappealing to me. Such a great concept, but executed so poorly for me.

I agree Talon. The lack of decent PVE, the outdated combat, and the horrible gearing system all ruined the game for me.

1) The gearing system is fine?

2) the combat is kinda outdated, but it still works.

3) the combat shouldn't be the only determining factor of the game, combat is only half of the battle in Archeage. There's building structures, blacksmithing, trading, shipbuilding, alchemy, etc.

If you guys don't like the game, what could make it better?
