30+.... unless you work for graal, thats different.

iHot 01-26-2013 03:35 PM

If you enjoy the game your age shouldn't stop you from playing.

Never too old.

Admiral 01-26-2013 05:21 PM

Nothing wrong with playing the game, but I would say around 18 - 21ish is where you get bored of the actual gameplay and start looking into development i.e GFX, Levels etc.

The fact that you are asking this question means that you are trying to tell yourself you won't be this big of a loser when you are older. Nothing wrong with playing Graal over 21, you are finally mature enough to play a video game without spreading drama.

Also, I am 21 years old and I attend the most prominent Journalism school in the country, a very competitive program. I have been to the Cayman Islands, Mexico, Jamaica, England, Germany, Switzerland, France, Belgium, and Scotland. Judging an individuals worth in life is not something you can do based on what video games they play. I have played Graal since I was 12, and I'll probably continue to play it until it dies.
EDIT: Also, like Zerith, I am independent and haven't lived with my parents since I was seventeen.

Respect.

snk 01-26-2013 09:29 PM

Hmm I'm old now, i'm 24. (25 this year!!)

As long as you enjoy it, why stop? Everyone needs a break at some point.

I'm 22, and I still "play" graal. I develop more than I play, but as a lot of you have said...age is only a number. I've been playing since 2001, 12 years.

I love how all the butthurt people on here are all 20+. Of course they are still playing and don't think it's wrong... Why don't we get some of the opinions of people under the maximum ages on this poll? Age isn't the issue here. It's responsibility and maturity level.

Personally, I think you can play this as long as you want as long as you have priorities in life. Here's a little self evaluation (in my opinion):

1. What is your age? (If under 18, you're fine to play Graal):
2. Do you have a job (or higher education)?:
3. Do you have access to an automobile?:
4. Do you know what you are going to do with the rest of your life?:
5. How many people currently live in your house?:
6. Are you dependent on someone in your house, or do you have dependents?:
7. If you have a job, about how many hours a week do you work (contribution to society)?:
8. Would you consider yourself in 'financial struggle'?:
9. Do you have a significant other?:
10. If so, how much time a week do you spend time with them?:
11. Do you enjoy playing Graal?:
12. Could you quit Graal any time you wanted to, for long periods of time?:
------------------------------------

If you are 18 or older and can answer "Yes" to #'s 2,3,4,11, and 12 -- #7, do you at least do something with your life and attempt to work a job or attend schooling?
-- If you answered "Yes" to #9, did you answer #10 with "4-5 hours a week" or more?
-- Did you answer "No" to #8?

~If you checked all your answers with this, then in my eyes, I feel you are in a perfectly fine position to play Graal, despite any age you might be. I'll post mine so I'm not just being a hypocrite.

Rufus 01-27-2013 04:38 PM

Not sure if 'access to an automobile' is really relevant to whether or not you should play games.

Jagger 01-27-2013 04:41 PM

1. What is your age? (If under 18, you're fine to play Graal): 17
2. Do you have a job (or higher education)?: Yes
3. Do you have access to an automobile?: Yes
4. Do you know what you are going to do with the rest of your life?: I have a good idea
5. How many people currently live in your house?: 5
6. Are you dependent on someone in your house, or do you have dependents?: I am a dependent
7. If you have a job, about how many hours a week do you work? Roughly 20 hours a week
8. Would you consider yourself in 'financial struggle'?: Not at all
9. Do you have a significant other?: Yes
10. If so, how much time a week do you spend time with them?: 15+ hours
11. Do you enjoy playing Graal?: Yes
12. Could you quit Graal any time you wanted to, for long periods of time?: Sadly.. No I could not unless I got rid of my laptop or had something life changing happen to make me want to change my life.

If you don't have a car (or someone with a car who can help you with stuff) how are you going to make anything of your life? Once you get access to a vehicle, you are then able to go out and complete the priorities in your life. If you are 18+ (which is the audience the questions are aiming for), and do not yet own a car, then that should be your top priority. Not playing Graal 100+ hours a week.

Maybe it is different for the United States, but I have gone through school, college and pretty much university without having to drive. I mean, I always have someone to give me a ride if I really need one, but I rarely do. There are tons of people who don't drive, but prefer to walk or don't mind using public transport (busses, trains) to commute. I'd generalize and say that these people are not those that are at home playing games too, so I don't think it is really relevant. Not that this thread is serious business or anything.

The cultural gap may be different for some, yes. Buses and other public transportation is much harder to use efficiently when you live in the midwest USA. I am 3 hours south of Chicago Illinois, so there isn't big city near me. The schooling I will take is not of walking distance to where I live. I have to drive to see the gf. I have to drive to go to the store. I have to drive to go to work. I suppose it goes with "do you have a job".. If you have a job and no quick way to get there, then it wouldn't be very efficient and that should be your priority. I guess that's what I was trying to say.

Again, I only spoke in generalization.
And why I'm typing so much on a thread like this? I don't know. Pointless honestly.

Rufus 01-27-2013 04:57 PM

America always spreading their **** out so much. I guess it would be a requirement to drive if everywhere is roads.

Thallen 01-27-2013 05:07 PM

And how old are you now?

Crag 01-27-2013 10:26 PM

So the second a person turns a certain age they are automatically too old to play graal. Nice.

Its funny because you match your own criteria so its okay for YOU to play Graal but anyone who doesn't meet your standards is a failure at life or something.
Since when are you in the position to make judgement calls -___-

Anyways nice to see you on here again.

No age limit in my opinion. You play it until you want.

Not unless you on your 40's...We have pedos to worry about.../no joke

Thallen 01-29-2013 12:39 AM

I'm 23 and I've played the game since I was 10. If I didn't have such a long history with the game, I can't imagine myself playing it right now. That's just a personal choice though, I don't believe in any age limit.
