Ignorance is bliss.

Riots back in ~2000-2004 had much more substance to them. Kids nowadays have nothing beter to do than to riot with cheese on their head because of an update that protects the legailty of the game.

Ignorance is bliss, don't be an asshole.

They had much more substance to them back then? Did you even play back in 2000-2004?

I've seen riots started on the bridge because people were bored and felt like starting riots.

Precise 11-11-2012 09:55 PM

I did use a bad word to describe them, you are right.

I merely meant they weren't people bitching about a game update that protects the game itself from issues like child pornography.

Out of all statements, Rufus, you should be the one seeing the light of that.

Egos, egos, egos.

Rufus 11-11-2012 10:00 PM

Rufus, you just supported my statement without even realizing it. Thanks for using the morpher as a prime example.

A riot in regards to the morpher sounds a lot better than a riot because of an update to stop child porn and other inappropriate images from being used in a game marketed towards kids.

Tbh, they aren't aven riots, just protests

Are you seriously contending that all of the riots and protests on Graal have been meaningful? Lmao.

That is why I'm defending myself. Some people just have terrible egos... I stated (it's my opinion, not others) that I believe riots/protests are ridiculous. I never said they are new to the game.

You're using the wrong context -- look at the example I provided. Sorry for not including it in that original post but I wasn't generalizing.

And I had said I apologize for stating it in a way as such.

But Rufus over here just feels the need to continue poking when he very well knows what I mean.

Hell, he even posted something along the lines of "There is an update coming that I know will upset a lot of people, but it needed to be done". Yet he's here flexing his ego, still.

I like my seat here just fine pal, and you said riots were ridiculous and talked about what this generation had come to. Then you changed what you said later on, kinda silly.

Changed it before you came into this. So don't use that as an excuse. Do you see what I mean?

Flexin' egos is a job for you guys.

Dusty 11-11-2012 10:18 PM

The protests/riots(they're the same thing in Graal. You can't riot because there's nothing to destroy) of old were rarely any more substantial. Most came about because players tend to hate change. "OMG YOU MOVED A PLAYERHOUSE WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. EVERYONE GRAB A SIGN AND HEAD TO THE BRIDGE!!!!!" Most of the people who participate aren't even sure why, but they do it because everyone else is.

Although you edited it out, you originally said that protests back in 2000-2004 had more substance to them. Rufus' screenshots show that riots have always been nonsensical.

How am I backpedalling? You specifically said that online rioting is 'ridiculous' and implied that this is something from the new generation. I proved it wasn't. Then you said that old protests were more meaningful. My previous screenshot showed it wasn't. Then you misquoted me for some irrelevant reason and I pointed out that I didn't say what you said. I'm pretty sure you're the only one that is changing the subject.

You are right about me 'flexing my ego' though, but I'm not being offensive. I just don't enjoy reading people berating the iPhone community when the PC community acted in the exact same way. That is an offensive flex of the ego, but I feel with you it is unfounded.

Precise 11-11-2012 10:30 PM

Of course I read it all. This is purely entertainment, why do you think I'm still here?

Rufus, I had previously apologized multiple times for using incorrect statements to define what I was talking about. I provided the example of the update for guild pictures so that you could better understand the relevance I was looking for.

Your other moderator realizes I corrected myself and apologized. Everyone else? Not a chance -- they're all riding the band-wagon.

There's no hard feelings as I know you've been a vital aspect to the community. I'm just trying to understand why people are still using the original statement. Is it because they failed to read the rest of the responses/thread prior to answering? Most likely.

Why does it feel like Masamune supports the online display of inappropriate pictures over Graal? I mean, some people make friends and show pictures just for fun, and that's perfectly fine. However, that is not always the case. I don't think he really supports it, but that's how he's been presenting himself for the past few pages of this thread. I don't think Rufus making an effort to both support privacy and keep Graal legal is flexing an ego at all. This guy really seems hellbent on that term.. After attacking Ruf in the first place!

I don't think the reason they were rioting was the cause for that post. I think the fact that they were all dressed the same was funny, and the member decided to share the photo. Masamune, kids will be upset whenever anything is taken away from them.. I'm sure they'll understand sooner or later, and some probably already do. The picture was a little joke, which was quickly blown out of the water..

What has Graal come to? There are so many dramatic arguments about this game, it's pretty insane!

I said I would do it if something senseless turns into a riot. If they have a point, let them riot. If they riot over cheese, then I shall put them down. If they have just some random idea, they shouldn't be rioting over it. They can peacefully and much more easily get their idea through if the at least feedback it.

peacefully? its graal, you are supposed to pk and such, and unless you have a script intensive complex dynamic damagable environment i dont think players could actually riot really, only civil disobedience

I would only step in if they start getting a little too rowdy, and actually they can do some things to apply a little more force. They can cause intentional lag, glitch, and even hack.

This new era of Graal is not even Graal.

I cannot wait for Delteria.

Apologies for quoting an old post, but I think we all know that people have always said "Graal is not the same as it used to be" since forever. All that's really happens is your position and view of it changes, not necessarily the game itself.
